IMPORTANT UPDATE!!
So the line-up for Division 1 is now complete…
Sussex A Oxon A Kent Berks Surrey Northants Sussex B
Given that it is now 7 a side and everyone gets 6 games, play time will be approx. 8.5 hours. So Dave and I have decided on an 11am start time (so around 7.30 finish). Captains will need to be there at 10.30am to register their teams. As I am doing a new format can I please ask that someone can post teams on here so I can enter them into the spreadsheet to save time on the day.
Div 2 now looks like this
Hants Bucks A Oxon B Bucks B Sussex Ladies Oxon Ladies
There is potentially one more space available to be filled here….

Congratulations to Kent on their victory today, their strong team playing well and taking the title by 3 points ahead of Sussex A with Oxon A just 1 point behind them. Well done indeed to Sussex B on finishing 4th just ahead of Berkshire and Northants with Surrey being relegated to Division 2 next season. Nigel Senior won the High Break Award with 12,090, there were many other 10k plus breaks on the day with players choosing to touch up to take the point for their team at that stage or I am sure the breaks would have been a lot higher as the tables were very good. A big thank you to Dave Alder for running the day, Nigel Senior for the new format which worked very well with 7 teams and to all that helped to set up the tables and meant we all enjoyed a good and very competitive day. Sadly, there does have to be an award for "IDIOT OF THE DAY"..... which goes to the Sussex A Captain (ME).... having collected all of the AEBBA Trophies from Worthing yesterday and loaded them in the car for the journey up today, I then managed to forget to take the actual County Championships Trophy with me that Sussex won last year...!! Sorry Kent.... I will give it to Gerry next time I see him.

A great day, thanks to Dave Alder as always for all his hard work.
Congratulations to Kent on their victory, I think Sussex A with some normal players unavailable did well to push them all the way and did well to finish second, Dave Ingram and Nigel Senior leading the way winning all six of their games.
Well done to Stuart Carruthers on his captainship ( first occasion ) of the B team, it is not easy being in charge and playing. The B team did very well on the day in coming 4th and hopefully will be there next year depending how the new rule fans out. Mike Daw was ill and taken to hospital yesterday, hope all is well with him, thank you to Jack Baden for stepping in at the last minute on Sunday morning. Sussex b in their last game palyed Oxford and only lost 4-3 giving the A`s the chance to hold 2nd place , as the A`s had their bye series in the last round of the day.
Good atmosphere and tables all good.
Thanks to Didcott for hosting the day, and to all that helped with taking the tables down at the end of the day, and clearing up the room for the club, many hands make light work.

Would just like to add my thanks to Dave Alder for setting up the tables and running the day and to Nigel for working a good format with seven teams.
Congratulations to Kent on winning and Sussex A on finishing second, was a tight battle at the top that went all the way to the last round of games.
Would also like to congratulate and thank the rest of the Sussex B team on the performance and also the support shown during the day. I was honoured to be appointed captain and could not have been happier yesterday at how the team came together to encourage each, and believe this is shown in our results. Everyone contributed by winning at least one match, with TJ, Joe Oakley and late super-sub Jack Baden playing really well all day.

Did anyone pick up or see a cue left behind yesterday? It's in a silver Peradon aluminium cue case.

All is organised for 12 start as previously advertised - as pleased as I am to see Berks B back in, I doubt that Oxon B will have a team at that time. Tony

I always thought it was 11am be there for an 11.30am start from previous years, but since the change I have now organised all transport for 11am start, and I know that the likes of Steve Allard and Terry Isard who have to travel on to Herts would definitely not be happy to start later - sorry Tony :(

Perhaps it could be arranged so that Oxon B are the ones who start with a Bye ?

Seems a bit silly to give the nearest ones the bye in the first round but if it means there will be a team then ok
I will have a 7.30 start if it's 10.30 for 11 which is ok if that's what it is but need to know in case I can have an extra 1/2 hour sleep 😴 (Not a morning person!)
Hopefully the time will be confirmed soon so we can sort travel arrangements out.
