October 8 AEBBA Alternative Rules (Triangles) (Totteridge Club, Bucks)
With this event scheduled to take place in only 3 weeks' time, wouldn't it be advisable to start a list of those interested now ?
The line-up was dramatically reduced last year, a clash with Interleague being offered as a reason for the normally ubiquitous Sussex only providing one competitor: There should be no such problem this year if the fixtures shown on the Worthing website are anything to go by.
The event has been switched to Bucks this year and with the Mixed Doubles at Totteridge already cancelled I reckon Bucks deserve some support in return for being the only non-coastal county so far willing to visit West Sussex for the AEBBA Off-the-Spot.

Is there a minimum number we need for this competition to go ahead?

Is there a minimum number we need for this competition to go ahead? A few eyebrows were raised when only 23 took part last year - down on 39 the previous year. This is hardly worthy of a National competition, and the scarcity of southern entries so far this year underlines the point. Perhaps consideration should be given to running it under different auspices in future (ie High Wycombe make it their own event). At least that would remove the danger of the prospect of a short-notice cancellation by AEBBA.

Come on then ladies and gents - become a national competition champion and support the Alternate Rules comp in Bucks in a few weeks. :)
Make the most of this competition whilst it still is a AE National Competition, if it carries on as one even better.
Sussex, Surrey, Oxford, Berkshire - what are you doing on Sunday 8th October!!??

Just for you Tony......
Doug Carswell won the main competition beating me in the final.
Kyle Ingram won the plate final beating Tony Brown in the final.
From what i remember here are the latter stages of the main comp.
Quarters Doug Carswell beat Michelle Baden Stan Orman beat Nigel Senior Curt Driver beat Matt Jones Mark Trafford beat Norman Morton
Semis Doug beat Stan Mark beat Curt
Can't remember who Kyle beat in the semi of the plate but Tony beat Pete Soanes.
Oh and Curt won the highest break.
Think that covers nearly everything!!!

Thank you Mark...but not just for me!
On a serious note but without getting too uppity about it, I wish organisers who use the Forum to organise competitions would find the time (2 minutes) to put a short note on here listing the role of honour. For historical reasons if nothing else.
thank you
