Stout House F 2 Southwater SC 3 @ Roffey SSC
Colin Bolton 2410 *Tony Franks 2370 *Scott Hope 2210 Ray Manager 950 Grant Hope 1860 *Tony Temple 3300 *Dave Simmons 2000 Mel Blake 2640 Lee Tugwell 820 *Keith Newman 2820
Game 1: Scrappy game, nail biting finish. Colin snatched it with the 200. Game 2: Scrappy game. A couple of mis-cues costly for Ray, Scott enough in front at the bar. Game 3: Scrappy game, Tony eased enough ahead. Game 4: Scrappy game. Close all the way. A 1k from Mel at the end clinched it. Game 5: Surprisingly, a scrappy game. Keith pulled out a lead.
Between the 10 players, I think there was only one break over 1k! Still, at least we all got our £2's worth.
Despite the early scare of winning the first two games, the F's stepped down a gear and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory thus ensuring a place in the prestigious Plate competition. 😉

Roffey SSC 4 Springbok Club 1 @ Southwater SC
Sniffer 3500 Lewis 320
The score line is not a true reflection of the game as Lewis had a nasty whip out that took away the BP. Sniffer was always a nose in front but Lewis was pressing and without the peg could have been a bit of a different outcome.
Dick 4700 Trevor BP
Once I had a ball pop back out on the one up it was toast for me. Dick was in fine fettle and looked like he had turned back the clock (must have been the girly drink he was supping) as he took control and put me to the sword.
Glyn 2010 Bill 1030 Both Glyn and Bill had a slow start, but eventually Glyn got to grips with the task in hand. Bill was just bloody unlucky with balls popping out of the holes, he certainly was not a million shades of Glyn.
Twiggy 5480 Mike 1060 Blimey, reckon Twiggy is possibly the best player I have ever seen (actually he asked me to put that in). Twiggy was always in control and Mike had it all to do but he did not discredit himself at all. A bit more luck and he would have put a bit of pressure on Twig and then who knows.
Moose 1940 Gary 3580 "Please write something nice about me" (quote Moose). Okay I like the colour of your eyes! Now to the game. A bright start by Gary put him in control, which is just as well as at the later stages Moose was all over him like a rash. Both players were a bit unlucky and on a better top (no disrespect) would have smashed decent scores.
Well as expected an evening full of banter, thank you to Southwater Club for the sandwiches, very nice and appreciated.

"Please write something nice about me" (quote Moose). He also has an extremely long tongue (second only to that of a giraffe).
