Two days after my birthday, may be I should enter the over 50s and thinking about Mr sav, as you've played for the white horse can we enter you as our Suffolk individual? Dave, You may nominate any Suffolk registered player you wish to represent Suffolk in the individuals (Open & Ladies), the only criteria AFAIAA is that they have not represented another county in the Inter-county competition this year (one county per year) and Suffolk have paid their affiliation fees. The precedent was set when Eric Hill used to represent Dorset and there was not even a league in Dorset! at least you have a league!!

Regrettably I am unavailable to play in this prestigious competition now. I have spoken to Jim Greensted who was runner up in the County singles and he is available to take my place. Good luck Foxy😉

Will Jim Greensted be able to play in both??? That is another rule that was not considered in the change around of competitions this year. The only rule on the age related competitions is that they cannot play in the Grand Prix as well if held on the same day. However, as this is not covered by the rules, the AEBBA committee have it in their power to make such a decision. Over to them!

Dear Chris and Tony
We made a decision at the County Teams / Special Ladies that you could not play in both. Well I did to be honest, against myself not being able to do both.
The logistics alone are quite hard to work out on the day, when you never know how many would turn up to the over 50's as they can enter on the day. I also feel that there could be an unfair advantage possibly if you have already played on one of the tables in one competition and then you play it again in the other competition and your opponent has not. Especially if it has a break that is a little different in terms of side etc...
This pops up every year - would be good to propose a rule for the AGM ???
Yes Suffolk have paid their fees and entitled to send. So have Cambridge. Is that where Taffy plays from? So he could enter too. Dave A knows whom it is anyway.
No Hants lady
Thanks Chris

Logistically we can’t allow players to play in both the over 50s and an All England singles competition (men or ladies). This is because if you allow one person to do it you would have to allow everyone to do it, and there are quite a few All England singles players who are eligible by age to enter the over 50s.
So Sav…..over to you…can you confirm if you will be Suffolk’s representative on the 5th Nov??????

Have removed Jim from the over 50s if that is different will add to the list, I know people can enter on the day but how many will we need for the Over 50s to go ahead as I for one do not want to travel a distance to only find it cancelled on the day.
