I'm shocked and saddened to be told today of the death of Nick Barnett whom I beat in the 1998 BIOC Final.
Condolences to his friends & family.

That's awful news! Nick was my doubles partner when he was still playing at the start of the pairs.
I knew Nick had been having a torrid time with his health but thought he was through the worst of it when I last saw him.
A character who always had a dry sense of humour! A sad loss.
Are there any more details?
I have poor quality video of that final and the epic spoons battle of Dicko v Paul S. that followed

I was at the entrance of the main room when the minutes Remembrance Day silence was being held. Did not hear the announcement about Nick. Was told the sad news by Mick Eouzan on the Sunday evening. I usually visit Nick's Father at Studio 18 when over in Jersey, but did not call into the shop for some strange reason this visit, not feeling quite right about going in. I now know why. RIP Nick.  |

Chris Newson is very saddened to hear the news.
He knew Nick well from Jersey events.
He wishes to send his condolences to the family.
