Given that Stuart, Pete and myself all play in other leagues on a Wednesday, it may be tricky to arrange our matches if the venue is only available on those nights.

Speaking to the landlord tonight to check the situation Neil as we have been told someone tried to book the table and could only do so on a Wednesday and Thursday, am going to check if this is reality when we play tonight, keep everyone updated.

Spoke to Matt who is running the bar at the Pocket Rocket and says games can be played Mon and Tuesday before 9pm, Wed and Thur, Friday before 8pm no Saturdays, Sunday between 12 noon and 3pm.
If you are drawn there and a problem suggest liaise with the league secretary, two tables now both in and all set up.
Not a bad venue, if you find Tescos on Church Road it is opposite that, you have to look for the board and arrow pointing to a door that leads downstairs into the club.
Matt used to be behind the bar at the Albion so most of you will know him.

Further from Pocket Rocket you can play anytime as long as before 9pm, and that you have booked the table in advance.

I'm due to play a match on each of the Pocket Rocket tables. Is it obvious which is which please?

The A table is the one that used to be in the Albion Fishersgate that Ian and his team play on. It is the only one which has a proper light shining on it!

Played both my matches at the Pocket Rocket tonight. Seniors against Pete Hickman first on the B table, and Pete very kindly lost his 5.5k opening break, allowing me to win a low-scoring game. Breaks of 5k and 4k in the second game gave me a 2-0 win. Switching to the A table, Stuart and I spent most of the first game working out the quirks and rolls, with Stuart taking the game. I had a steady 5.8k to open the second game which was enough. On to the 3rd, where Stuart opened with just over 3k and I responded with only 450. I was the first to get the break back however, and touched up on 6k to win 2-1. Both tables playable but the B table seems to have side cushions that throw down, and the A table is definitely downhill with a sharp left-hand roll. Thanks to Pete Brown and Barney for scoring the first match and to Alan Mepham and Barney for scoring the second.

Excellent game with Gerry in the singles last night, thanks to Rick for scoring all 4 legs.
Gerry off early but first to get them back and built a very good and steady 7k lead, TJ balls back and ran table out to end up about 600 short.
TJ off at 4.5k when got out of position and kept them, but was first to get them back, and built 9.2k lead, Gerry balls back but off at 1.3k and conceded. True to say we were both caught out by the roll and catching he split to fat in the first two legs.
Gerry nearly played the table out and off at 14140, never looked in any trouble except one 20 split that caught the 100 and could have gone anywhere. TJ gave chase and did not miss a split to 13k, then put red behind, straight into it to get the 50 and put the object ball to left hand side of right hand 20, played slow shot with a bit of side and watched it roll off and miss the ball and a oh s*** came forth, only to watch the side take on the back cushion and the ball to clip the ball by the 20 on the way back and then proceed to gently roll into the 100 and a very big sorry to his opponent from me as I got the balls back next shot and made sure of a 2-1 win.
Once again sorry to Gerry for that bit of outrageous luck, but a high class decider non the less.
