EGM Notice December 2017

Dear All,

Please note that I have now received written requests from more than 50% of Affiliated Counties in request of an EGM to discuss and vote on the following proposals only:

• Vote to ratify the affiliation of Nottinghamshire Bar Billiards to the AEBBA
• Amendment to Rule 15 of AEBBA Constitution to enable the AEBBA Committee to call an EGM as operationally required

No other proposals shall be accepted for discussion at this meeting.

Therefore I shall be making immediate arrangements to hold this meeting in the coming days via a telephone conference call. All details shall be posted here as well as emailed to County Secretaries as soon as they are confirmed.

As an important reminder, in order to be able to conclude these matters satisfactorily, a quorum of at least 50% of Affiliated Counties must attend (I.e. at least those who have requested this meeting!). I should also request that all committee members attend if at all possible.

I’d like to thank the County Secretaries for their swift response to my email and messages in order to action this. I hope that we can maintain this kind of momentum as we proceed.

Hi Chris,

Standard call rates will apply (i.e. calls will be charged at the same rate as 01 or 02 numbers).

I will be noting all attendees and, in the event that there are multiple representatives from an association, we shall agree who will be voting on behalf of that association as we do for the AGM. Nothing different or special will apply here.

When it comes to the vote I will call out each name and they will reply with either ‘In favour’ or ‘Against’. I anticipate this will be pretty straightforward.

Hi All,

Many thanks to those who were able to join the brief call.

I will write this up formally very soon but I am delighted to say that both items were approved unanimously so it gives me great pleasure to welcome Nottinghamshire to the AEBBA. We very much look forward to supporting you as you grow our great game in the county and beyond. We also look forward to meeting your players at forthcoming events.

I am also pleased to confirm that the AEBBA committee now has the authority to call an EGM as operationally required.

Sound quality was not that good to me, it sounded like wind noise as if someone was making the call from outdoors.

Hi Lorin, sorry I missed the conference call. Wasn't sure if I'd get finished in time. 'Twas a bit manic as you'd imagine. Wish these people would post stuff earlier. I would have voted in favour of Notts joining.
