Hi All, I am pleased to announce that entries are now being accepted for the AEBBA 4-Pin Open Championship. This event will once again be hosted by our friends in Northants at The Cock Hotel, Northampton. The date for the event is Saturday 19th May. The format for this event will remain as with previous years consisting of groups of five players competing in a round robin format followed by a Main Knockout and Plate competition. The field is limited to 40 players only so do get your entries in very soon. The closing date for entries is Friday 27th April. In order to offer the best event that we can with greater rewards for entrants, we have had to increase the entry fee to £8 per player. This still represents excellent value for the number of games you will get to play and the quality of the overall event - so please continue to support this competition as you have in previous years. All entries can be submitted via the AEBBA Website as follows: AEBBA Competition EntryIf you any questions or wish to sponsor this event please do not hesitate to contact me. Very best wishes, Lorin

Just hope as it's an aebba tournament they will stick to their decision that rules for four pin tournaments will be those used for the EA Open. Ie 6 whites, if a peg is moved it remains until the end of the break, last ball off any cushion down any hole etc. I do like a little stir. But I can bribed with beer
Do you want me to bring some sets of mushrooms??

Well done to Sav for bagging his second 4-pin Open title. The semifinal against Nigel was something else, he made up a deficit of 500 with the bar gone to win by 20. Thanks to Login and his team for a professional job.....The merchandise was a good idea, some nice nicknacks on offer. Well done to him also on his Plate victory, an impressive 6k score in the first leg of the final.

An excellent day in Northampton and thanks to the Northants crew for a well run tournament.
Mr Lillie kept me well supplied with ale! in true Suffolk manner. Four pin certainly makes you think! Nice to see a variety of players in the final stages.
Thanks guys,

yes well done to all! a really well run tournament and everyone enjoying themselves (until they lost at some point!). I like Tommo watched the Nigel Senior v Chris Saville second leg and it was bloody awesome! The gate went with Sav 350 behind but 100 in hand and he stopped the game, had a good look and found from somewhere 350 and all he had to do was sink the final ball, it hit the side the top, rolled around the 10, across to the 20, went round 3 times and down. so it was all in hand then Sav!!! on to the Final and Jason Neal raced away and Sav agin was well behind, it looked tough, then, inexplicably, Jason left the red against the left 50 peg (in a straight line from the D and couldn't deal with it, not even a touch on it to lose a big score. Sav not only cleared it up but got a great 2,000 break. Jason went off again as he was just behind and blow me if he didn't leave the red in the same place again, and missed it completely again (so 2 x no score) and from there Sav took over. it didn't have to be but I learnt so much on saturday. I thought i wouldn't alter my game (but I did). i didn't think pressure would get to other 'great players' but it did. it seems that by not cracking you create your own pressure even when you are behind. for some, the 150 break is better but if you can't maintain it you are in trouble sometimes and Sav's 150 didn't falter when it mattered at the sharp end. I'm already working on my '150' and i only have 363 days to get it right! thanks again everyone! BTW, what does this mean in plain English:" wins Top points were David Lloyd 318 & Steve Hale 203. Dipper the only one to get any Bonus Points. " cheers Taffy

" cheers Taffy Thanks for the write-up David, those points are for the tipsters' derby and reflect a player's current national ranking when a group winner, which you were. The lower ranked the player you correctly predict will win then the more points you accrue.
