It is with sadness that I have to report that Darrell died today, about 1pm, after a period of illness. My memories of Darrell go back to when I started playing, and especially to when he was the first person to show me the Jersey tables, at the Esplanade !!! and shall miss him. RIP Darrell  |

Such sad news, Darrell was a friend & team mate for many years he was a regular player in several League's & Mid Sussex Interleague team & you could always depend on him. Our condolences to Marion & the family.

Really sad news, I played with Darrel at The Balcombe Club were we had three succesful seasons, later as an opponent many times in Horsham, Mid Sussex and opens. Lovely chap condolences to Marion and family

Darrell always made us so, so welcome at any Sussex event we attended, always had time to talk to us but more importantly ensured we were well and happy.
A lovely man who will be sadly missed.

I've only just seen this Very much enjoyed playing alongside Darrell for many years, a very reliable team mate and a very strong opponent. My thoughts are with Marion, they were joined at the hip, she must be distraught. Someone please pass on my regards when you next see her. |

Marion has asked me to convey to all friends and wellwishers that Darrell's funeral service will be at 3pm on Friday 4th May at the Surrey and Sussex Crematorium at Worth (Balcombe Rd, Crawley). Afterwards a gathering at Heathy Farm (the pub opposite).
