Well done Matt a well deserved victory, and to Stuart on his plate win.
Good day, tables good, and some very competitive games, thanks to those who made the day possible with their hard work.
Club a great venue, and nice to see a number of people stay to help score etc.

Well done Matt, so pleased to see you ve won something 😄, thoroughly deserved. Well, Silent has won something before: our King & Barnes Open Doubles - a competition which as a six-times winner you should be familiar with.

And a well respected tournamont it is,i in fact won the brighton doubles this year and my only contribution of any merit was to put the last two whites down off the break. but it is my considered opinion that only Singles titles hold any credit to an individuals ability, not doubles not mixed nor team. It is therefore to Matts credit that he played well all day and deserved to get me off his back.

A fair point, but of course there's a certain skill involved in choosing the right partner !
One by one Silent's ticking off all the boxes....how soon before we see him get his first 20k ?

Did have a chuckle reading this
Sure it won’t be long before Matt gets he’s first 20k (Tuesday would be good lol)
I think Colins right in saying individual comps mean more to people being backed up by hearing 2014 Brighton Off The Spot winner a few of us have heard for the last 4 years. Even though there have been some doubles titles over the last few years. Convinced there will soon be an open win and other major titles to come.
How do people choose the right partner? First let’s not upset other half second lets not upset teammates third let’s not upset friends fourth any one wanna partner me 😂
Another big well done to Matt on winning yesterday in a great final

Thanks for the kind words, hopefully it won't be another 4 years to wait! I might have to change the record that starts with "the 2014" Ian will be pleased I need to thank one of my favourite people, Dave White as he won his last match in our group which meant I went through and he knocked Clive Minhane out. I would have offered him a drink, but he was way passed his quota Naturally I thought it was a great day but hope everyone enjoyed it. Shame 3 people dropped out during the week as 32 is a perfect number, still it was great to see some new faces there and hopefully they will all be back next year. Thank you to Jean for all her hard work in getting the competition running and to Nigel for running the admin desk. We only had 2 or 3 dozen crossed words during the day as he kept telling me there were no mistakes and grizzling about the tables he was putting me on got short shrift....thanks mate, you were right as always Thanks to those involved in setting up the tables led by Stu Mepham and Alan Brack. Joe Oakley was the third member of the team with the heavy lifting so thanks to him as well. Tables provided some challenges, but that is always good. As Tony said earlier, it was great to see so many people helping with the scoring, as always he was to the fore where that was concerned. Looks as though a good relationship is building with the BHCC, long may it continue.

Think his partner might be getting dropped soon as Mr off the spot (matt) is now a sussex off the spot winner as well as Brighton 2014 Off the spot winner
