Well done to Jean Brackenridge on winning the Ladies Championship today. Jean played well all day and retained her title by defeating Anita Blackman in the final, well done to Anita on being the runner-up. Jean beat Denise Wills and Sheena Wood to reach the semi-final where she beat Pauline Withey. Pauline had the consolation of taking home the high-break glass with a 6k break. Anita was unbeaten in her group and had the highest average score in the group stages, she beat Michelle Baden in the other semi-final with Michelle topping her group.
Denise won the plate beating Lorraine Hall in the final.
It was disappointing that only 13 ladies entered but thanks to those who did come and play. Thanks also to the BHCC for allowing us to use their facilities and to the ladies for some good food. Nigel worked hard on the admin desk all weekend and my thanks to those who came and help set up the tables on Friday (a thankless task) led by Stuart Mepham, who along with Alan Brackenridge and Joe Oakley did all the heavy lifting. Bob Hall was involved in taking the tables down today, and, as always scored more than his fair share of matches, cheers Bob.
Hope everyone enjoyed the day.
