I have copied the following from the Watney Mann Thread as relevant to Worthing, and speedy recovery Paul.
Return match at the Swan tonight ended in a 5-0 victory for the visitors but after the news we heard, nobody really felt like playing. Barney had been taken into hospital earlier in the day with a bleed on the brain. Our thoughts go out to him and hope that he recovers quickly. Neil & Lyn will keep us up to speed on his condition as soon as they know anything. C'mon Paul, Spurs need you 😉

Barney was taken to Worthing hospital by ambulance yesterday early pm, and after a CT scan was blue-lighted to the Royal Sussex in Brighton. There he had a 3 hour operation to relieve bleeds on both sides of his brain. He's reasonably bright today but we have no idea when he will be allowed out. Lucky we found him when we did!

Sorry, should have kept everyone up-to-date. The operation seems to have been a complete success, he had a scan on Sunday and as that showed no problem, they were able to remove all the tubes and drains from his head. We visited yesterday and he was perfectly lucid, although still vague about what happened. More news today is that they are probably letting him out tomorrow (Tuesday), so they must be pleased with his progress. A close call but it looks like he will be ok. No driving for at least 6 weeks though.

Morning all.
Yes I’m out of hospital and recuperating with friends in Durrington for a couple of days.
My head looks like it’s got 4 caterpillars crawling across the surface. At lest it does when I haven’t got the white plasters on it to protect the wounds.
I’m not allowed to drive or drink for 6 weeks. Flying is also out of the question for the moment.
Anyway the stitches are coming out tomorrow afternoon and I can then reveal my new full Hermann Munster look.
😁
