Proposal 1- Committee
We would again like to introduce the 4 player rule into our league after narrowly failing to do so last year.
Any team that can only field 4 players on a league night will be allowed to redraw one of their team to play the fifth game. That player will be against the break, regardless of whether he/she had the break earlier in the evening. The draw for the fifth game will take place after game four, allowing for any of the registered players from the team that is short to still turn up and play. If they do, they must be included in the match.
This rule can be implemented only 5 times during the season and by a different player each time.
The League Secretary and Competition Secretary will keep a track on which teams have used the redraw and which players double up so the rule doesn't get abused.
If any team does redraw a player for a second time during the season and he/she wins that leg, they will forfeit that game and therefore possibly the match.
Members seriously need to consider this proposal as more and more teams are falling short of fielding a full team.
Proposal 2
In the Mixed Doubles, Ladies must break first in all legs. In the event of a 3rd game, it will be played on an equally timed, equal break basis, with the toss of a coin deciding whivh pair will go first. ( To ensure a "Mens singles match" does not take place in any deciding leg
Proposed - Matthew Knight Seconded - Jim Millward
Proposal 3 -Committee
We would like to bring in Football or Bus Stop cards for teams to sell on every League match night. It will raise much needed revenue for the League. The Home captains will be responsible for collecting the monies. If each player buys 4 teams @25p per go, then the winner will receive £5 and also the League.
A simple system and a bit of fun to boot
