what tips and advice do we all have for speeding a sad old cloth up on a neglected old table?
I have been hoovering the cloth gently with air able to get in through the bleed gate easily and then I brush towards the head of the table going with the nap of the cloth. i find that regular brushing and hoovering helps. I don't seem to be loosing the matchplay cloth but how would A.N.Other cloth stand up to it?
also, is there anything to be done to the cloth like shampoo and gentle sponge? something to lift the cloth?
I am likely to tip the table a little towards the head and away from the player. poor cues don't help, braod tips, lightweight dead cues that rattle and borrowed from the pool table seem to be useless at the bar billiard table.
polished balls help.
so rather than re-cloth the table at this point, what are your tips please?
cheers

Your preliminaries good so far.......... Here's what to do next: 1. Brush it back to front ! 2. Spray with BCE Table Sports Cloth Cleaner - or Ambersil (equally good): www.amazon.co.uk/Ambersil-pool-snooker-cloth-cleaner/dp/B002GZ6NJY/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1532966244&sr=8-6&keywords=pool+table+cleaner3. Leave for 30 minutes. 4. Smooth back the correct way with a wooden block with baize surround (sure you can make your own one up !) 5. Brush using stiff bristled brush - the correct way this time... 6. Iron (2 or 3 times) 7. Smooth with Block again. This is the method used on our league table in the Windmill, generally reckoned the fastest one around ! This is from original advice taken from Chris Saville (Kent) and Simon Tinto (Surrey).
