Rules of Play

All matches

1. All matches will consist of 4 singles and 2 doubles games requiring a minimum of 4 players per side.

2. The order of play will be 2 singles, 2 doubles, 2 singles.

3. Each opening break will be made by the player representing the away team.

4. Handicapping will be used in all matches.

5. Should a black peg fall during a match the player’s handicap will not be eradicated.

Pool matches

6. In all pool matches, Captains will nominate player(s) prior to each game; the Away Captain will nominate first.

7. Final Pool positions will be decided on individual games won and, if necessary, total aggregate score.

The new season starts with a surprise win for the home team. The Cocky Ones got off to a good but nervy start taking the first three games until the dynamic duo of Barry and Mick took charge in the second doubles game. Then Graham, who was the only one to get to grips with the table, comfortably won his singles game. Tommo had plenty of chances to tie the match but Huw managed to stay ahead to give us the win. A good, competitive evening of bar billiards rounded off with a huge spread of scampi, samosas, onion rings and chips courtesy of our hosts Sam and Andy.

A good evening and start of new season. We almost made the draw but CKRBL played well, it was good to see Roy who played some good shots and is being coached and wll be a good addition to the team. Also good to welcome Lyn Storr to our side on a transfer from the A team.

Late start (and finish) on Wednesday as Ros had travel issues !! Wins for BHCC in first two singles and then both doubles with Derek and Jock taking the last two for Hassocks. Will leave Ros to post scores.
