The Hastings 4 Pin has been booked for Sat 22nd June 2019

there will be a max 7 teams of 4 players so get your declaration of interest in early to avoid disappointment

Well rooms all booked for the Friday and saturday night again. Just hope we find somewhere nearer to park this year, after parking up, walking back what seemed like miles to the pub waisted too much drinking time, this year I think maybe I'll let chelle drop me off at the pub with our bags and let her find somewhere to park, I mean its only right I should stay with the bags to look after them in the bar

Dave- But when will you stop having your little digs ? You have , over the years made your feelings clear with regards to 3- pin.

But when will it stop Dave . It’s getting very boring now. Please stop.
Why you felt the need to highlight your ongoing grievances against 3 pin onto this or any other thread is a [edit - removed] shame . NOT NEEDED OR CALLED FOR.

Please move on Dave . We all know you don’t like 3-pin so no need to keep bleating on about it.

As someone who loves 3 pin the continuous digs get very tiresome and annoying to keep reading them every time there’s an opportunity.

As far as flaming other members I would hope a similar message has been sent to Dave as he, on every opportunity appears to want to inflame things.

If we have both been treated the same then that’s fine but it seems unfair that I get pulled up in public for one comment when for the last few years Dave has continuously slagged off the 3 -pin version of our game but to my knowledge has not once been reprimanded/ warned about his flaming tone/ language in public.

I’ll word it differently then.

My advice to the Sudbury committee.

If ANY of your 4 pin players continually inflame other members on proboards , can they please be spoken to as I’m sure ANYONE making such comments under the banner of 4-pin are not part of the good spirited group of players you have in that part of the world . ANYONE using any language to put down or discredit any other form of billiards can not be a good advert for the organisation they play under.

So I’m clear is it a 3 strikes and your out type of thing ?

Do you think the many comments made by Dave over the last few years is not flaming things ? You haven’t warned him ever about inflaming the 3- pin game and it’s members and you are allowing him to continue? How can this be impartial?

I’m am all for fairness in dealing with any situation but I’m am completely fed up with the continuous digs made.
I would expect you to consider Daveuk comments made over the last few years as inflammatory and deal with it under your guidelines. Please please help to stop this as both sets of rules can and should exist without derogatory comments made about the other format .

I hope I haven’t broken any rules with this post as I mean no offence to anyone. Just tired/ bored/ fed up

Curt I am sorry if you see a simple comment about playing real bar billiards as a dig at 3 pin. Please remember I posted my comments in a thread about four pin, so unless involved there is no reason for 3 pin players to even of read my post and I would of therefore thought those who did read it would of taken it the way it was meant as a bit of fun rather than taking it to heart

I think most people are aware of the feelings of four pin players regarding 3 pin and to the best of my knowledge I am one of only about four 4 pin players who have entered 3 pin tournaments, I appreciate if you turn that on its head there are plenty of 3 pin players who have done the oppisite and tried four pin and enjoyed it. Everyone knows there are some three pin players who take it serious and are in a class of their own and all credit to them but I can assure you that the chats I had with the average 3 pin players over the weekend all suggested they took four pin as fun and liked the idea they were still going to get plenty of visits to the table.

It’s easy to say it’s a bit of fun for you. But now you know that for some people your continued comments aren’t fun I would hope you would now refrain from making derogatory comments as you now know some people find it upsetting/annoying at best.

Was staying out of this but firstly thanks to Colin for organising the event where bar billiards, friendship, sportsmanship and friendly banter were the winners.

Surely we all want bar billiards to be the focus whatever form that may take, and I believe we all think it is great to see skilful players playing the game. In all versions there are some great masters of the game and the top players of all games are for me a pleasure to watch and maybe still even learn off.

It does seem that what was originally just friendly banter between two different forms of the game has now become tiresome to the point I now wonder is it worth bothering going to events if that after every event we are going to have what has turned into constant arguments as to either the rules or the form of the game.

Come on lets all get on and play the wonderful game and accept we will have different views and these do not need highlighted at every occasion.
