No Tony or Sabina tonight, but the Watermill's newbies played well on a rather challenging table.
Three of the games were decided on the last ball: Mick, having put himself into contention with the bar gone, needed three goes at the 100 to deny Craig; Graham missed the 100 and a grateful Adey potted the 200; and Barry - behind up till then - set himself up for a win with 200 but BP'd.
Best game of the night undoubtedly the third: real cut and thrust. Either side of this Gavin and Paul struggled valiantly and Paul had me on the rack with some outrageous shots but failed to keep a vital break.
Good fun, nicely refurbished venue and tasty Thai cuisine.
