This match was originally scheduled for 27th January. Unfortunately I was ill and had to postpone. With Derek playing 3 leagues a week, coupled with scheduled and re-arranged Interleague matches for him, this was the earliest date we could both make. In fact, Derek came straight from the Div 2 1-day comp to play this match. Given there was a 2 month gap between the closing date for entries and the draw being published, it doesn't seem that there is a huge rush to get these matches played. If playing 2 days late has caused the whole competition to be delayed, then I will apologise and drop out.

It is up to the competition secretary to determine if there is an issue with matches being played late and as the reigning mid sussex singles champion my opinion is that you are still in comp and will be playing in next round and im sure the comp sec will confirm

Neil that is not at all the outcome required, my comment was not aimed at you. It appears it was only my match played on time.It also looks like there is still a game outstanding.
We have all had a long time to play and arrange and all left it late to sort it out !
Maybe we should all try and play as soon as possible in the next round.
It is also frustrating when you draw a player with very limited availability to actually play the game.

As competition secretary I agreed to it being played after the play by date, as I would like to see all matches played rather than walk overs given. Richard, Rob is reigning singles champion, and like he says all matches should be played. End of conversation.

Where have I ever said the games(plural) should not have been played. I have never suggested the games (plural) ! should not have been played. Again clearly my comment was not aimed at Neil but all the games. I would have thought Lorraine that you would echo my comments that we should all aim to play the games as soon as possible rather than the last minute.

It would be nice to have an update on the rest of these matches. So far have had no approach to stage a Cock fight at the Windmill. LOL

Can someone please post the draw for the next round of the mens singles, given the deadline for the last round was 3 weeks ago I presume it has been done.

Due to holiday and work commitments, the other Mens singles semi-final cannot be played until next Tuesday (4th). Result will be published on here the same evening. Sorry but unable to play sooner.
