Worthing B | 10-Feb | | West Sussex A |
---|
Paul Barnett * | 13240 | 0 | Alan Hitchman | Gary Ridley | 9400 | 2150 | Daniel Wheal * | Dave Jones | 4150 | 1750 | Trevor Tucker * | Ben Goodwin * | 1690 | 9590 | Martin Cole | Steve Aylmore | 630 | 3140 | Chris Oakley * | Tony Jenner | 2720 | 10590 | Barry Holt * | Pete Hickman * | 6330 | 0 | Chris Cox | 4 | 38160 | 27220 | 3 |
Paul opened with a 10040 break and touch to make sure, no luck for Alan and Paul added some more, good start for the home team. Daniel off at about 600, Gary ball back off at 1.2k, Daniel got them back off at 1.5k, Gary then got a slow 6k leaving Daniel no chance. 2-0 and a new experience for the home side leading a match. Trevor off at 1k and then there was a battle at the top of the table with Trevor increasing his led slightly, Dave got them back ad made sure with 3.8k break 3-0 now into very unchartered territory for the home side. Ben lost his opening break but Martin did likewise, Ben then got them back but off at 1k. Martin then balls back and mistake 3-1, may this have been a slip by the home captain letting West Sussex back into the game. Chris lost his opening break, Steve got them back but pegged giving the break back to Chris but he then pegged his break. Steve got them back got to about 2.5 and pegged , Chris got them back and although not really settling he made sure. 3-2. Barry opened with 10030, with just one blip when he spun the 100 split but missed the peg, and then no further mistakes, so again in this seasons inter league I went to the table with little time left, few goes each before with 2 minutes left I got the balls back and played the time out. 3-3 now into squeaky bum time with the home team hoping the captain had it right to entrust Pete with bringing home the spoils. Pete opened with over 6k, and with Chris having no luck, Pete was the 1st to get them back, he pegged 3k and gave the break back to Chris but timewise Pete had done enough. Chris then missed the red on the break, 4-3 for Worthing B to record their first win of the season, and a relieved captain. Good night with West Sussex as usual, plenty of banter and laughs, a very sporting match, played in a good atmosphere.

Brighton A 2-5 Redhill A (played at Albion Fishersgate)
**Grant Tully 7400 - 4410 Tony Cross Chris Tupper 530 - 8580 Geoff Jukes** Bob Hall 0 - 11,260 Dave Jones** **Phil Osborne 3900 - 9230 John Slee Jim Millward 8880 - 5080 Gary Powell** Matthew Knight 240 - 8880 Dave Constable** **Bob Osborne 1130 - 6140 Terry Oakley
Redhill A continued their fine form with a comprehensive win over Brighton A. There were chances in every leg bar the 6th but we were unable to take any real advantage and there were no second chances as only Jim for the hosts getting enough first time. Excellent breaks from Geoff, Dave, John and DC gave the visitors a deserved win. Well done to Redhill on their victory and thanks to them for being excellent company as always

Well played Hastings thanks for a nice social evening & congrats to Jamie on a great 10K break & new PB Yes, well done Jamie on the PB - took his side to their 1st Interleague win this season too. He's the only player in Divs 2 & 3 to have a 15k+ score this season. Fantastic cottage pie, which was worth driving to Hastings for!
