Apologies for the delayed update - the end of events always become a bit hectic!!
Well - what a weekend! Many of you will have made it home and we hope you enjoyed a safe and speedy journey. Spare a thought for your tournament organisers who are still making their way after a long pack down process. This post is being brought to you from a service station on the M40!
We couldn’t be happier with the great feedback you kindly offered over the weekend and yes, it all helps to make our events better each time.
Many congratulations to our competition winners Curt Driver & Mark Brewster who came back from near certain defeat in both the semi final and the final to take the title with style against Leon Beer & Phil Collins.
Well done also to Bernie McCluskey & world champion Paul Sainsbury who overcame Bob & Phil Osborne to land the Plate Crown.
Other notable achievements this weekend were: Michelle Baden for her high break of 4,200 and Phil Collins for his amazing 22,470 break. Michelle Coleman landed the notable achievement prize for bravely stepping into the competition at very short notice and yet reaching the last 16 of the main event.
Details for next year’s event will be available soon but until then thanks again to our event sponsors, to Dave David Alder, Nigel Senior and Stuart Mepham for making the event work with formatting matches, for lifting and setting tables, for managing the event programme and then dismantling it all at the end - you guys deserve a medal! To Chrissie Newson who planned and made all the arrangements for everyone to enjoy, took and managed bookings, collected and managed payments, agreed the offering with hotel and so much more!! Thanks also to our wonderful partners at The Queens Hotel and of course to all those who were able to make it. It’s your event and so we love that you make the effort to ensure it is as great fun as possible. Thank you!!
