3)'s a bond bug, used to go like s---t off a shovel for a small car. Sav What a coincidence. There was a picture of one in the Guernsey Evening Press on Friday 24th November. Correctly identified as a 1972 Bond Bug 700ES. One of only two in Guernsey, was for sale at £3,500 although it may be sold by now. With a top speed of 90mph it probably has never reached that as the legal max speed limit here is 35mph. The owner mentioned that it used to attract more attention than a Rolls-Royce, and he is quoted as saying "you would have to be pretty brave to take it up to its top speed". Don't think you would fit inside though Sav, so stick to your go-carts with no roofs !

17 Austin cambridge estate also appeared as Morris oxford. I learnt to drive in a cambridge, then raced one later on in banger racing
I think 8 is a Renault Dauphine.

A stonking 18pts for PeteM storms into the lead, but they weren't all correct...
1. Correctly identified as Daimler, but its the other one not a Dart. 4. Austin A40 - correct 6. Ford Cortina MkIII - too easy 8. Renault Gordini - spot on, but it has a model number?? 9. TVR yes, Tuscan NO 10. Vauxhall Viva HA - correct 12. Ford Consul Capri - Perfect, most people would call it a Classic, and even those that know tend to leave out the Consul bit -Bonus point. 14. Mercedes, but which one? 15. Marcos, these were defined by engine size, which is it? 16. NSU Ro80 - perfect, bonus point available if you can tell me its 'first' 17 ISN'T an Austin A55, I'll give IanG the point for Morris Oxford estate, also known as an A60. 18. ISNT a Hillman Minx 19. is a Wolseley, but not a 6
and Ian as you've probably just noticed 8. isnt a Dauphine.
Leaderboard.

16. NSU Ro80 - perfect, bonus point available if you can tell me its ' first'First Rotary Engined car. Mazda are the only marque to produce Rotaries now, as they hold the sole licence. Suck, squeeze, bang, blow ! ;)

First Rotary Engined car. Mazda are the only marque to produce Rotaries now, as they hold the sole licence. Suck, squeeze, bang, blow ! ;) Not strictly speaking correct I would guess Clive. Lot of confusion on that. What most people call rotary is actually a radial engine In a rotary, the crankshaft stays still and the engine spins around it as in most aero engines, NOT suitable for a car engine bay!!!!! In a radial engine the block stays still and spins the crank and that's what cars use. Bonus point?? 20) Maserati Birdcage Sav

Well it's a point for debate, Sav. The "true rotary engine" as you describe has been used in aircraft. The whole assembly spins, agreed. The car rotary engine as pioneered by Felix Wankel was first used in the NSU RO80. The car I drive myself has a Renesis Wankel Rotary engine, which has twin rotors, each of which does the full internal combustion cycle in one rotation - half the time it takes a normally-aspirated engine to achieve the same with pistons moving inside cylinders(four 'strokes').

Some points to be hoovered up, here. Firstly can I say to Q, can you check Petem's answer to number 11, as I too think that it's a Jaguar XK120 and you didn't say yay or nay.
No.1 if not a Dart is a Daimler SP250 Sports car with Edward Turner V8 engine. (The clue being the anti-roll bar.)
No.4 is the A40 Farina Mk 1 (if not, it's the Mk 2).
No.7 is a Lamborghini Diablo GTR.
No.8 is the Renault 8 Gordini (as opposed to the 9.)
No.9 is a TVR Vixen - a quite rare variation of the Griffith.
Thinking cap back on, more to come hopefully.

Further vacuuming................. Re the Marcos in picture 15, which is a Coupe GT3000. If this is the real McCoy, it was raced in 1971 with a V6 Ford Essex engine (2994cc).
However, these were also popularly sold as kit cars, with a Ford 105E engine (997cc) or a 109E engine (1340cc).
Your second car, maybe ? If not then maybe the Singer Gazelle in picture 18. ;D

Try as I might, no inspiration is forthcoming on numbers 2 and 5, so just to add that no.19 if not a Wolseley Six must be an 18/85S
And in connection with your immaculate Gazelle, it was very similar to the Hillman Minx - and also to the Sunbeam Rapier. They were all part of the Rootes Group (Humber, Hillman, Singer, Sunbeam-Talbot and Commer(=commercial vehicles)).

Having been on my 4 'on shift' days it is now time to straighten up the poinys in this quiz.
PeteM - 18pts Tommo - 8pts Sav - 5 pts IanG - 4pts
1. Daimler SP250 8.Renault 8 Gordini 9. TVR Vixen 15. Marcos 3 litre 19. Wolseley 18/85 20. Maserati Birdcage 11. IS NOT a Jaguar... It predates the XK120 by about 12yrs... and is FRENCH. 7. Although I agree it looks like a Lambo IT ISNT... and it is built in Switzerland
I can also categorically state that I have never owned a Singer Gazelle, or a Marcos (though I used to dream of the latter)
