Nearly all the tables on ebay are presently being bought by someone with the codename 0***2. If the tables all end up being used in the Uk in houses or pubs - that's fine but does anyone know who it is and what he is doing with the tables?

Looks to be a dealer from the other stuff he has bid on.
That one this morning was amusing to me, though I was in the bidding, but backed off going any higher due to a badly cracked slate.
Still a nice table, shame about the slate, would have liked the NBBA tankards

Quite a motley crew on FleaBay at the moment, with people asking £1k-plus for Rileys: are they serious ?
The best value probably the Mitchells Bathtub (ducks to avoid flying object from Sav).
And I see the Saracens Head (Sudbury) are offloading their Supreme.............hopefully to make way for a nice one of Jeremy's ? Dave will know.

yes but its in our general interest to find out who he is. if the tables are going abroad then that is NOT good news!
pretty much 50% of 'proper' tables are going to him at the moment. someone here must have sold a table to him surely?

See if he sells on the two tankards, otherwise needle in a haystack.
I show up as r***s on the concealed bidding ID's

If as Sav surmises it's a 'dealer' then that's nothing new: Visit the thread 'Professionally Restored ???' under 'Tables Buying and Selling' to see our thoughts on the subject !
The likelihood is it's one of these: Johnson's Sports of Anglesey; John Bennett Billiards of Tonbridge; Isaacs Snooker-Billiards of Chichester; Games Room Co of Weybridge.
I can't really think we're under threat of an exodus of tables abroad, most of the above seem to operate for a quick profit as a sideline to Snooker, Pool etc. I have come across others, and asked pertinent questions of them and received varying responses, 'Dogsbody' of Wakefield was a charming lady who gave up after turning round two whilst 'Billy' from Braintree (name changed to protect identity) seemed to me to be a fly-by-night.

Problem is, if he is a dealer, that he may not use the same account for buying and selling on FleaBay.
Isaacs buy and sell under that ID which does not match the feedback of o***2 so not likely to be them

he's been buying HARD for 6-8 months Tommo. When i bought my two jelks last year, he was buying all the Jelks in between the two. He lost the Crowborough one to me and then got the next two.
he's a serious buyer Tommo!
anyway, there's a delightful story of someone walking in every Grand national winner for 20 years. he would walk ahead of the nose of the horse and was Feted along with the winning Jockey. It got pointed out on BBC's midweek 'Sportsnight' by David Colerman and the man never turned up the next year!
So now we're onto him - we'll soon know who he is!

Here's another candidate, then, Taffy:
Based in Weybridge. Got £4,500 to spare ?
...........and this one, based in Coventry, will do you one from 'only' £2,500.

Well, I have a theory where hundreds of tables might be found............... .............but judging by this response from George, over the Pond.......... ..............my guess is they never made it and are in Davy Jones's Locker !

not in the USA for sure. BTW, there used to be a link to a bar in NY or NY State and it had a table. so I don't know why our American didn't find that one?
The other 998 were used as firewood at a guess....the Americans could afford that much that they could not only afford to buy them but as my Mum would say; they could also afford to throw them away too!

The seller of the nice Jelks copy "B" table has been visited by o***2, sounds a nasty piece of work. I'm trying to find out whom it is, having warned the seller.

Taffy 0***2 was bidding on the isle of wight table that just went for £511.00 , SAMS with timer and good slate , he dropped out at £472 , so bidding on that table with ferry charges and traveling costs its got to be a southern buyer ???

I don't suppose you still have the link to that one, Alan ? Would like to see if there's a clue to link it to one of the I.O.W venues shown on our tables map.
Cheers, tommo

Thanks Alan. Only clue was 'Sandown'. Nearest known venue is at Shanklin (Cliff Hall Hotel) so assuming it was privately owned.
Interestingly, there used to be a League in the I.O.W. but it petered out in the late 70's/early 80's.
