I wondered who'd be in for this one ! Craig gets the points for 3) and 6). Herr van Puebik gets a point for 2) and a half for Fursty Ferret. (Badger Brewery does come under Hall and Woodhouse, btw.) Now to Sav. 1) one point plus bonus half. 4) one point 5) one point plus 2 half point bonuses. 7) one point plus bonus half. 8) one point plus bonus half. 9) answer really is Black Sheep as Theakston Brewery is in Masham, 10 miles up the road from Ripon. www.theakstons.co.uk/brewery/However, you've covered it, and I'll allow 2 half bonuses for the Theakston brews you named. 10) one point plus 2 half point bonuses. Leaderboard: 1. Sav (he knows his ale) 11.5pts 2. CraigC 2pts 3. H/V/P 1.5pts All questions successfully answered, lads, so quiz really finalised, but I will continue to allow bonus points restrospectively for any further brand names that people come up with.

Gad's from Ramsgate down this way. They do numbers three, five and seven where the number is the recommendation for the maximum number of pints in a session. Gad's number three is a real winter warmer!!! Timothy Taylor's landlord from Keighly in Yorks is a fine hoppy bitter, very popular in the few outlets you see it down thus way. And must not forget Courage's Directors, a very fine pint and I certainly got through a lot of that in the lamplighters this year. Sav

Rather difficult to mark up these latter-day offerings, but I'll have a go. Barbelman has successfully named seven brand names by my favourite Brewer (Wychwood) and could also have added Hobgoblin, Goliath, Osprey and Firecrest - all of which I've sampled. One extra half-point bonus for the smiley against the Dog's B*ll*cks - obviously in recognition of the t-shirt from which my avatar is crafted. ;) And a half for the Wadsworths one. (4.5)
Now to Sav. Sav, this is not quite how the quiz works, I don't just want to know the name of every ale that you chance to have tipped down your neck at various beerfests, there has to be some relevance to the breweries in the original set of questions. ::) But I'll grant you that Courage brew a particularly fine drop, so half-point there, and I have found myself out on a matter for which I offer a further half-point as an apology. Which is that the Black Sheep brewery is also at Masham rather than at Ripon, according to the label on the one i bought while out shopping tonight ! (1.0) Finally, Dave Jones has entered in the nick of time..........11 brand names from Young's identified, so thats 5.5 bonus points.
Revised Final Table: 1. Sav (he knows his ale) 12.5pts 2. Dave Jones 5.5pts 3. Barbelman 4.5pts 4. CraigC 2pts 5. H/V/P 1.5pts
Quiz finally closed.

'Kinell, Sav, I would gave thought that giving out 26 points from a simple 10-question quiz would have been enough. ;D But I'm sorry to have robbed you of the chance for further reminiscing. ::)
Perhaps you ought to do a version II on this subject yourself. nothing to stop you, you know. ;)
