Can't resist one last quiz before Christmas Day. This will probably attract hoots of derision from SIC Sav, as they're not real ales but pi$$y lagers. But it's offered if only for its geographical element......... Sav thanks Tommo for his latest offering but, out of respect to his CAMRA beliefs, will abstaning from answering this one (I will not be abstaining from proper ale today, and in deed have not not so far as the electric bike needed a rest as I passed the Magnet.!!!

Like Sav I drink 'proper' English beer but I also like trying beers from different countries especially when visiting those countries, or restaurant of differing ethnicities. You have to remember that some of these are their traditional beers albeit that they are tarted up for a different market - sitting in a small Spanish market square sipping a glass of Cruzcampo or similar just somehow feels perfect.... :)
The Ozzy urine that they serve in pubs is just that but some of the old world lager-type beers are very flavoursome indeed.

I agree wholeheartedly with Tony, and especially with the 'horses for courses' sentiment. I think that those Cobra or Tiger beers from India go down very nicely indeed with a takeaway; if I'm snatching a bite to eat in a London restaurant, I usually order an Italian beer; but if I'm in the supermarket my choice for a whistle-wetter for home consumption will be something with a bit of substance like a Tanglefoot, Wadsworth 6X, Old Peculiar, an Adnams, a Marstons Pedigree or a Cumberland Ale - you get the picture. I won't mix the grape with the hop, though, so if I've had a glass of wine with me din-dins I'll stick to cider in the evening. And if I feel like fast-tracking to getting plastered, it will be a couple of Carlsberg Special Brews. :P :P It's a wonderful subject to discuss as people's tastes vary so much: I like the German and Czech Pilsners, and I do like a nice drop of Fosters that is not past its best. The only beers in fact I can't get on with are Carling Black Label and Kronenburg 1664.
1pt to Herr van Puebik by the way. ;D 3,5,7,10,11 & 12 still to get.

7) was hard to find as there are 'Morena' beers allover the place, this particular one is Spanish or Italian, found labels for both countries
Nice drop of Shepherd & Neame Porter last night, oooh the dark & dusky Christmas ales!!

How fickle you prove to be ! Just like me in my younger days, claiming to only go for blondes, but quite partial to the occasional brunette and redhead too !
Anyway that good effort claims 4 points. The Birra Morena - as per the label - is a Light Pils style beer brewed from a new brewery at Balvano just south of Rome, so Italy was correct for that one.

7 She looks Mexican on the bottle thanks Tony I think Tony's given enough now to enable conclusion of this one. 12) Australia is correct, the beer is called James Boag's; Number 5) Casta (that was the clue, the label just shows a load of squiggles !) is actually from Mexico, not India, but as you mentioned Mexico in an earlier answer, that's good enough for half a point.
