We are having an emergency meeting this Friday. I've spoken to a few "away" players and they seem keen for us to go ahead. It would be really helpful if players could let us know their thoughts below.
If we have an idea of the number of people still wanting to play we can move forward.

I totally agree with Silent. I am a licensee and if pubs are shut a lot including myself will not survive. This will affect many small shops, restaurants and pubs Jim. It's early days and the pandemic is top of their agenda but surely Government will make provision for businesses like yours...they seem to be spending billions on everything else! The virus comes at the wrong time for you guys, with news reports that the number of pubs was increasing for the first time in decades.... Good luck and with hope for a short 'restriction' Tony

Following our committee meeting tonight in Northants, all activities have been suspended until 29th June at the very earliest.
We have agreed both an optimistic and pessimistic calendar beyond that but will, of course, be subject to how the pandemic proceeds throughout our region during this time.
We have agreed that our outstanding league matches (only two of them which were not played last night) must be concluded before the commencement of any future league, but all competitions can and will be cancelled if required.
This may have an impact on the ability to send teams to AEBBA Team or Individuals events should they be held in 2020 but, given the current backdrop, we have accepted that we will be impacted significantly.
This concludes the votes from the Northants jury!

Billingshurst League - last 2 weeks of matches to play; Divisional winners decided, but not Runners-up, Relegation and Best Performance issues. Team Cup & Plate - 60% complete - 2 rounds of games left to play. Competitions (15 matches to play) - Mens Singles 4 x Q/F & 2 x S/F will take to Finals Night stage; likewise Open Doubles with one 1st Rd match outstanding. Mixed Doubles - down to Semi-final stage (2 ties)Finals Night delayed and requiring re-arrangement. Mid Sussex League - last 3 weeks of matches to play to resolve all issues. Charity League - last 2 weeks of matches to play, then Semi-Finals (x 2) and Final. Team Cup & Plate - down to Semi-finals stage (4 matches) Competitions (35 matches to play) Mens Singles - 2 o/s 1st Rd, then Qr Finals (x 4) and Semis (x 2) Ladies Singles - 2 o/s 1st Rd, then Semis (x 2) Open Doubles - 1 o/s Qr Final, then Semis (x 2) Mixed Doubles - 2 o/s Qr Final, then Semis (x 2) Seniors - Quarter-finals (4 ties) then Semis (x 2) and Final (H & A) Lower Div Singles - no details issued so far.Masters Comp and Finals Night - both delayed and requiring re-arrangement. Redhill League - 6 weeks to play, plus 7 weeks of Competitions including Finals Nights (plus Separate Presentation Night with disco to arrange) NB. Loss of Apr, May, Jun would require rescheduling to Jul, Aug, Sep. Surrey Open will be rescheduled to September, with possible loss of 2 one-day competitions. Competitions (67 matches to play to reach Final stage)Presidents Cup - S/F x 2 Burwood Cup - S/F x 2 Memorial Cup - Q/F x 4; S/F x 2 Mixed - last 16 x 5; Q/F x 4; S/F x 2 Open Singles - Q/F x 4; S/F x 2 Pairs - last 16 x 4; Q/F x 4; S/F x 2 Reg Stone Singles - Q/F x 1; S/F x 2 Terry Allen Pairs - Q/F x 3; S/F x 2 Over 50s - last 16 x 8; Q/F x 4; S/F x 2 Ladies Singles - Prelim x 2; Q/F x 4; S/F x 2You guys faced with these headaches - you all have my sympathy and admiration. Dear All
I would strongly suggest you all stop all competitions/events.
You will put yourself at risk.
I am looking at shutting a school for over 3 months from tomorrow
Do not believe this will go away after Easter it will certainly be very long term could be up to 18 months.
In my honest opinion only and not as a moderator.

Hi Everyone, This probably won't come as a massive surprise, but we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Guernsey Open. Please see our official statement on our website: www.guernseybarbilliards.org.uk/Cheers, Luke

My own local watering hole The Windmill (Crawley) looks like being the first pub casualty of Covid 19: We called in there last night and Bev informed us it was likely to be closing its doors on Monday (23rd March). Ankle-biters will be banned for the weekend. Our table will be left there in situ to await happier times.

Is it intended as a temporary closure to save on overheads, or is Bev leaving completely ? However I agree with your assumption of casualties mounting in the Pubs community, and the Social Clubs will suffer too, all of which is a worry for Bar Billiards everywhere.

Bev is licensee but runs the pub for someone else who as owner would get any government grant. As you know, pubs run on high turnover of stock and she has had a block put on her for future orders. Bev would like to keep going but due to Covid 19 the future is uncertain.

I believe you may be on lockdown from Saturday or Monday for two weeks but this is my own personal opinion and I have no information other than you all have.

Here in Guernsey, the singles league is continuing on a smaller scale, despite high rates of people isolating. We all keep in contact via a WhatsApp group. If a scheduled fixture can be played with the two participants agreeing, and obviously taking a LFT before venturing out, the fixture can be played. Also, some outstanding and canceled fixtures can be played in catch-up games if the opponents can agree and there are slots available on the four table venues.
