A founder of rockabilly music, this artiste wrote Blue Suede Shoes and made it into a million seller. However he was involved in a near-fatal car crash and Elvis Presley also had success with a cover version of Blue Suede Shoes as a follow up to his first hit, "Heartbreak Hotel". Ironically, Elvis only managed to take his version to #20 on the Best Sellers chart. 18. The lead guitarist of British rock group Uriah Heep. He is the only member from the band's founding in 1969 that is still active with the group. He now plays a Gibson Les Paul. 19. The guitarist with Booker T and the MGs, he co-wrote "Knock On Wood" with Eddie Floyd, "In the Midnight Hour" with Wilson Pickett, and "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of the Bay" with Otis Redding. 20. Born in Hull, his last, high profile, live performance was his famed appearance at The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992. Poignantly, he played on "All The Young Dudes" with David Bowie and Ian Hunter, and "Heroes" and "The Lords Prayer" with Bowie. Died of liver failure on April 29, 1993 at the age of 46. 3 good points there, Craig. And 1pt bonus for details of a Zappa live performance. Frank Zappa is a very important part of Rock history, and has been very prolific in his material. Yet it's a big gap in my own knowledge, and I'm sure I'd like his type of stuff. Any recommendations of an album I could start off with - or maybe there's a good compilation one ?

There is a compilation album, always a good place to start. There are a number of live albums titled "You Can't do That on Stage", vols 2 & 3 are generally regarded as the best. Joes Garage is a great studio album, plenty of good humour and music. For classic early M of I, Hot Rats or Freak Out maybe.
