not the answer i have Tommo, but Yes.... if you can justify it Well A Touch of Frost had a Detective Sergeant Clive Barnard and when he is killed in the line of duty Jack Frost places his George Cross on the body to be buried with him. I was expecting Jack rather than Jim in the question at first but thought i'd take a chance that there was also a Jim in the series.

will award 0.5 bonus for this wooley attempt 12 ..... I've got nothing more to offer on this one, Gandalf (even tried Googling !) so reckon you'll have to tell us the answer.
(b.t.w. apparently it transpires there were two Jims in Touch Of Frost )

well in my replies i've said YES and WOOLEY!!!! All is now clear from the Wooley clue. I see you've now changed Barnard to Bernard, so it's Jim Hacker and Bernard Wooley. So Yes Prime Minister with Paul Eddington (Gerry in The Good Life) as PM Jim and Derek Fowlds (Basil Brush's sidekick and also Oscar Blaketon in Heartbeat) as Bernard. Both sadly no longer with us.
