Bonus point for your PS.
Me too. I stayed in Waterville (coastal edge of the Ring of Kerry) in 2000, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Irish countryside = unspoiled by the English !!!
Kissed the Blarneystone whilst over there and it cured me of being occasionally tongue-tied !

6 is the River Lagan (specialist subject, British rivers!)
8 I presume is Stormont which have just reconvened again after several years of direct rule
11 Although it's a Spanish surname, the Eamon says not, so it must be the only country with more Irish than Ireland, the good old US of A. I assume it's not Ireland otherwise you wouldn't have asked!!

(1) The missing one is County Monaghan. (7) The Undertones are from Derry (as indeed am I!) (9) The province is Munster, which was always mispronounced on TV when Steve Rider was introducing the rugby. I’m sure he thought it was in Germany, he would invariably add a non-existent umlaut and say Moonster.

Both correct. An immaculate 2pts for Mark. Irish Potato Famine - shocking ........ English no help at all to the Irish, many of whom emigrated to the States. Ireland has always been bigger on dairy farming than on growing crops, as basically the soil is poor: its geography is ar$e about face: mountains round the coast rather than inland.
