2. Black Sabbath 12. Alan White was a member of Yes 10. Alec Guinness 2. correct, 1pt 10 correct, 1pt .....which leaves 12 which I'll have to allow a point for as over the years he's shared the sticks for Yes with Bill Bruford. But the answer doesn't fit the question: there's another Alan White who happens also to be a drummer - but with a Manchester band. Weren't Yes Brummies ?

1. Black velvet. Terrible waste of Guinness 3. That'll be DickTurpin 8. You're My First, My Last, My Everything All three spot on for 3pts. And 0.5 bonus for the comment on Guinness...my dad used to drink a version mixed with cider. Yuk ! I'll drink a Porter, or a Mackeson, or even the rather weak Manns Brown or a mild or old ale (in season) - but not mixed with cider (which I love equally on its own).
Black Velvet is like cold jelly with hot custard - it doesn't go together (don't let Margo tell you otherwise !)
But then again, I like crystallised ginger with ice cream .... there's no accounting for some people's taste !

16 is Chicago, the White Sox being the team on the South side of the city, perceived as a less glamorous club than the North side Cubs. They were involved in a corruption scandal during the 1919 World Series, an episode which gave rise to that team being referred to as the Black Sox. So they cover both the colours of this quiz, Clive.

11. I have a feeling that's Fullham 13. Whitesnake 17. Thats gotta be Aswad 13 and 17 both good for a point each. 11 Fulham is incorrect, but I would have been wrong too as I'd have said Leeds. 0.5 bonus in the spirit of this quiz - after all Fulham play in Black and White.
