Attached is the cash book and the accounts for Bournemouth 2020 (subject to independent examination).
The cash book reflecting the AEBBA bank account has been sanitized to remove names from the BACS payments to maintain privacy and comply with GDPR. AEBBA have been furnished with the original.
The accounts contain estimates for sponsorship which are not in the cash book and appear on both sides of the balance sheet so that the gross turnover is correct for next year's planning.
Bournemouth has shown a good profit this year, despite the extra expenditure on a second van. However this is largely due to sponsorship which cannot be budgetted for next year.
I remain concerned as to the future of our finest competition weekend due to the difficulties experienced with the new management at the hotel and, in my humble opinion given the difficulties this year, the price increases requested for 2021.
Price rises have been demanded of £25 extra a night for a double. No singles any more, just single occupancy of a "cosy double" (read that as you will!) at the ridiculous price of £93.75 a night, double this year's fee. Kids priced at £27.50 including meal charges. The Association would be committed to paying for every room in the hotel.
I feel there may well be resentment amongst the regulars at the huge price rises for 2021 after this year's incommunicative fiasco over room allocation and the refurbishment. Financial planning for AEBBA Pairs 2021 will need to be conservative.
My suggestion would be to start discussion on the viability of next year, but I am not an AEBBA officer and my involvement was a one-off to help out Chrissie in a difficult situation for this year only.
