UPDATE 25/06 - WE ARE RE-OPENING!!!! We are pleased to announce that we will be opening on the evening of the 4th July!! We will still be offering our takeaway service for those who do not wish to dine out just yet, this will now be available on both Friday and Saturday nights for pre-order as we have done throughout lockdown. We will also be offering the same takeaway menu plus a couple of Specials and of course drinks for outside dining on both Friday and Saturday nights. You are of course also welcome to just come and enjoy a drink outside too! Should the weather fail us (which we are hoping it will not!!) then we will erect marquees outside and open the bar area and front room for inside dining, but if the lovely summer continues then the plan will be for outside only initially. This is our first stage of opening and things will of course evolve as we move forwards but we feel this is the safest and most effective way of us getting open initially at least. Camping will also be able to recommence from 24th July and existing bookings will take priority initially.
Hi Guy and Girls! As you are all aware the Government have announced pubs can reopen on a Saturday 4th July. We are currently going through the very extensive guidelines now released and are trying to work out the best and safest way in which we can reopen! We will obviously keep you updated as to how we intend to do this, and what form the “new” Railway will take. Rest assured we fully intend to reopen on Saturday 4th July, but please bear with us as we have to get this right!! Many many heartfelt thanks to everyone who has offered us words of support and who have used our delivery and take away services through the lockdown, we would not have survived if it was not for our loyal, wonderful customers!! WE WILL BE BACK, SOONER RATHER THAN LATER!! It takes more than a virus to bring The Rails down!!

Roffey club 27 June at 12:47 · Welcome back to The Roffey Club following lockdown, we are re-opening on the 4th July, to enable us to keep the social distancing and in the interest of our members and staff we need to implement a few guidelines, we all know this is a pain but it’s for everyone’s safety. Sadly we can only admit members and cards will need to be shown on the door, no card no entry, this is due to limited numbers. When arriving at the club you will be greeted by a committee member, please follow the advice and instructions given to you at this time. A one way system will be in place, so if you need to use the toilets or smoke you will have to leave by the fire door and come back round to the entrance again, once outside you are not allowed back in through the fire door, (Staff only). Orders will be taken at your table where you will find a table number, payment is preferred by card but we will accept cash, at this time we would like you to be patient as service may be a little slower than usual. Please be aware that any unruly behaviour ie, shouting not following the guidelines or drunk, you will be asked to leave no ifs or buts. A member of staff will be carrying out regular cleaning duties through their shift. Children are welcome with the families but normal rules will apply for them to leave the bar at the time’s noted. All drinks will be in a plastic tumbler, if you wish to have a glass you are welcome to bring your own, or you can purchase one from the bar for a small fee which you can take home clean and re-use if you so wish. We will be changing our hours for the foreseeable future, but will review as government guidelines change. Opening hours are Monday to Thursday 1800-2230 Friday 1600-2230 Saturday 1500-1030 Sunday 1300-2100 Football will be screened without sound, soft music will be played in the background, this is to discourage people from shouting and again keeping our members and staff safe. First day open happy hour for the duration of bar hours, at last order we request you drink up and leave promptly so cleaning can commence.Don’t forget we are limited to the amount of people that can be seated, if we reach our capacity then some members will be turned away, for this we apologise in advance, however again we have to adhere to the guidelines issued by the government. The Railway will be opening on Saturday 4th July. Our opening hours will be 11am until 10pm in the garden and 11pm in the bar. (All other days will be 12.00pm opening).
To ensure we don’t keep you waiting too long, we will be operating a table booking system. You can reserve tables for 2 hours by calling us on 01403 782928 or using the book now button on our Facebook page. Bookings will be taken from Tuesday. Please note to state the number of people in your party up to a maximum of 4 and if you would prefer an indoor or outside table.
Entry will be via the front door only and everyone entering will be asked to provide contact details to assist with the NHS Track and Trace as required by the guidelines.
We will be operating a bar service system, serving from designated service points with screens on the bar. We will be accepting cash or card as usual.
There will be no standing at the bar or seating available at the bar. If seated inside you must restrict your party to two families only. Garden tables must not be moved! They will be positioned in accordance with government guidelines To start we will only be offering hot food on a Sunday Lunchtime, Roasts served from 12-3pm. We will be continuing with our Sunday Roast Delivery Service!!
Toilets will have a maximum of two people at any one time and operate a one out one in system with marked waiting areas.
Dogs are welcome but we would respectfully request that they are kept on a lead and with you at all times.
Rest assured we will be regularly sanitising and cleaning all areas.
All we ask is that you sanitise you’re hands on entry, respect social distancing whilst on the premises, respect the team as it’s all new for us too, have fun and stay safe!!

We have hand dispensers at the entrance and outside the toilets as well as a one way system, safety screens and regular cleaning.
Please book a table whether eating or drinking either by phone or using ResDiary, if you wait in the porch a waitress will seat you. All orders will be taken from your table and delivered to your table.
You can also turn up and wait in the porch and subject to table availability we will seat you.
We are required to keep a contact for each table booking for 21 days to comply with government track & trace system in case of a breakout.

2 July at 10:15 · It’s almost here, at 12pm on Saturday 4th July the club will be re-opening! We’ve been busy getting ready to welcome everyone back as safely as possible and look forward to seeing you all for a drink or two very soon. Whilst we’ve been closed, we have taken the opportunity to make some improvements and refresh the décor. As well as a new look for the bar itself, the room layout has been changed to allow for adequate social distancing with one-way queuing systems. Access to the club will be from the patio side only, the front door will be closed. We have a new marquee and additional outside seating, to begin with we will only be able to offer a small amount of inside seating and unfortunately we are not able to allow anyone to stand in the main bar area so once all the indoor seats are in use you will need to use the outdoor space instead. To help us utilise the limited indoor seating before you sit down you will need to ask a member of the bar staff or committee who will direct you to a table. (You may wish to bring your own blankets or camping style chairs with you which we are happy for you to use on the cricket pitch outfield. But please remember that you will not be able to bring your own food or drink to be consumed whilst on club premises including the patio and outfield) We know the re-opening of pubs has been a long time coming and we may get very busy, to help us keep the queuing to a minimum we ask you to please follow the below guidelines: • Queue in single file on the floor markings which have been spaced out at 2metres. (Two people from the same household may stand at the same marker but as much as possible please keep to one person) • Only over 18’s will be allowed to order from the bar. (Children may stand in the queue with a parent but again where possible please try to keep to one person) • Wait at the final marker until a member of the bar staff or committee ask you to move forward to the serving point. • We will have a slightly reduced beer menu when we first open, which will be displayed before the queue. We ask you to please have a look at the menu and know the drinks & snacks that you wish to order before you get to the serving point. (Please don’t wait until you get to bar to decide just in case we don’t have that particular drink) When you have finished your drinks, before you queue to order again or before you leave please take your empty glasses to the glass collection point on the patio along with any rubbish including empty bottles and cans to place in the bins provided. The club will be deep cleaned every day and regular cleaning will also be conducted throughout the day. Opening hours will be reduced in the first few weeks, this is allow extra time at the end of the day for clearing, we’re sure everyone can appreciate this will take longer than usual with the extra measures in place. Opening hours will be subject to change at short notice depending on weather. The membership year ended 31st May so We will be asking members to renew their membership on their first visit back at the club. We are pleased to confirm that the new renewable membership cards have arrived, those who were members up until 31st May will not need to fill in a form, you will be given your card when you arrive and subscription payment is taken at the bar. If you are collecting two cards (joint memebership) then two transactions of £7.50 each card (£15 total) will need to be made. Full details of how the cards work will be given when you pay your membership. Committee members will be around opening weekend to help so if you have any queries feel free to ask one of them. Staff and committee members will be wearing ID badges. Things may be a bit slow as we all get used to the “new normal” so please bear with us in these first few weeks while we get up and running again. We can’t wait to see you all again.
