I was recently approached by the committee of BHCC, who said they were considering a proposal from the snooker players on the resumption of play. They asked if I would like to submit a proposal on how Bar Billiards could be played in a Covid-safe way.
I submitted my proposal, incorporating most of the ideas that I have read on these boards.
I am pleased to report that the committee have decided that Snooker, Pool (on the upstairs table only) and Bar Billiards will be permitted. Darts and Pool on the downstairs table remain suspended.
Matches remain suspended for all sports.
For Bar Billiards, only two households may play at any time (i.e. doubles could only be played if the 4 players were only from 2 households), balls and all touch areas should be cleaned before play commences and between each set of players. Hands must be sanitised before playing.
Own cues must be used in all three cue sports.
The club have put a sanitiser spray bottle and a roll of blueroll beside the table. Hand sanitiser was already on every table in the club. I have cleaned the pockets with the sanitiser spray and will continue to do so on a regular basis.
I'm happy to report that Trevor and I have already had an evening of Bar Billiards and felt completely safe - with no other people even remotely close to the playing area.

Excellent news (for once !!!!)
We are at a similar position in the Windmill, with singles play allowed. (No matches until a further lifting of restrictions).
Laminated card by the table setting out what is needed/permitted. And recommended that players use own cues - ones normally left on the table now behind the bar.

Ah yes, sorry, I forgot to mention in my post that it is compulsory to use own cues at BHCC. I'll edit my post.
