Great opening innings from Pete. Ringed or Collared Dove are the same thing I suppose, and I would have said Wood Pigeon. Both are greedy b*st*rds, I know that ! No.3 isn't actually a Bullfinch but it is a finch of sorts, so half-point for that one. All the others are spot-on.

Good save, Lord Cheeky, you've picked up all of the last four with a successful second stab at number 5. The Yellowhammer is a much more slender bird and a lot rarer to gardens. Wish I could say the same about the pesky lily beetle which hides under the flower while it gnaws away at the plant without you noticing.

To celebrate the successful reconstruction of tommo's garden fence - with concrete posts this time ::) - he is taking the unprecedented step of resurrecting a quiz - this one on garden birds.
So, look at the pictures 1 to 13 again, and I am going to give you the Latin names for them.
All you have to do is mix and match the letter to the number, as the names are given in a random (alphabetical) order.

Blimey ! That didn't take long. A full set of answers there to Lord Cheeky.
I thought those would be difficult: when I did Latin at school, I could translate English into Latin successfully, but was hopeless at translating Latin back into English.
