KP gets an extra 0.5 for dedication regarding Cornish Pasties, but I am reducing the points for Newquay Zoo to 0.5 only as Jock would have probably given the more correct answer of a zebra's ar$e. ;D So KP's score goes up to 5pts. Ian's answers are more difficult to score so I'll do it separately.

I presume you mean Smugglers Cove as the answer to 2) across from the top which actually Charlestown, a built up harbour near St Austell. However according to Google, ... great risks were taken by Cornish smugglers as they slipped across the English ... activity for ports such as Par, Fowey, Charlestown, and even Looe. ... so I'll allow you the other half-point on that basis. And another half-point bonus for the correct assessment of Jock. ;D

Distant hill - actually it's a mountain known as Brown Willy. 0pts. Aerial photo - answer already given: Charlestown. -1pt Flambards - correct, and nice joke, 1pt Hairy beastie - answer already give: a piskie. -1pt Island - not just any old island, it's St Michaels Mount. -1pt Zebras ar$e - that's already been Cracked - by me I think. -1pt Church in a jungle - err, Truro cathedral actually, 0pts Quaint coastal road and ruins. Answer already given: Tintagel -1pt. But +2pt for the word ruins, as tommo once fell down the waterfall there and ruined a pair of trousers. :o Strange wee castle - correct, Pendennis actually for 1pt. And 1 bonus point for pointing out that Scottish castles are generally better appointed than English ones. Aerial photo - that's pathetic, surely you recognise the nemesis of John o' groats - Land's End !!! -1pt Clotted cream - correct, but answer already given - 0pts Heligan - well yes it's obviously in Cornwall, but it's the Lost Gardens of Heligan - a modern day rival to the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ 0pts Pub sign/ethnic - not quite good enough - straight down to the library for you my boy and take out a copy of Jamaica Inn by Daphne Du Maurier - a fine tale of cornish smugglers in the 19th century. You can still visit the pub which is on Bodmin Moor. 0pts 3 pasties - correct but KP gave us all that one - and later consumed the evidence ! 0pts. Phallic looking ruin - answer cornish tin mine already given. -1pts So, lets have a tally-up. 0,-1, +1, -1, -1, +1, 0, -1, +2, +1, +1, -1, 0, 0, 0, 0, -1. I make that - er - zero. Was it worth it ? ;D Quiz finished: 1. IanG 9pts 2. KPringle 5pts 3. DaveJones 0.5pts 4. Sir Jock o'the Strap 0pts

Bowlax!!!!! No points for tin mine, at least I tried to name it!!!! And you should have re checked the answers on my post as I modified them as I went, looking for better answers!!!! I wouldn't push it ! You submitted two entries side by side, and it would be well within my power as a moderator to tear one of them up electronically speaking ! I thought the first one was marked rather skillfully. Good job this is just a bit of fun - I don't want claymores at dawn ! ;)

yes but the second entry was modified as I went, and why would you want to electronically tear one up, am I only allowed one attempt at the answers?
Please please don't moderate me cause I am just so afraid!!!
Claymores at dawn, more like stella by moonlight my friend!

You can have as many goes as you like - at questions that haven't been answered already by someone else.
But I had a double helping of that - which made life difficult as there were other quizzes waiting to be answered. Hence the tactic to take points off.
But then as it was you, I decided I would be kind to me former room-mate - even at the risk of being accused of favouritism. ::)
