Sadly, another casualty of the virus is the Cock at Wivelsfield. Owners Sam and Andy have said they had to remove the bar billiards and pool tables to enable them to install a bar / service area at the back door. Unfortunate but completely understandable in the circumstances.
This means that members of the old Horns Lodge team is looking for another new home. To that end, we have had discussions with The Plough at Plumpton so we will probably move to there - once the league is back up and running of course!

Sad news always enjoyed the nights there and a good welcome was guaranteed. Unfortunately as you have said this scenario could be repeated elsewhere.

Sad to see this but as you say completely understandable with the situation, also glad to see that the team are looking for a new home which is also not too far away. Good luck to the Horny ones.

Yes sad but understandable. Seems a good idea to start looking now, and hope all goes well.

They will not need a bar / service area at the back door after June 21, so what's to stop them putting the tables back in?

June 21st is a long way off confirmed yet and I'd guess, from a distance, many pubs will stay prepared for the next wave.

I'm an optimist. 10m second vaccinations done already. Booster jabs likely to be in place alongside flu jabs this autumn. Infections plummeting. As of today, there was ONE covid -19 in-patient in RSCH Brighton and PRH Haywards Heath combined.

I hope you're right! visited our pub and heard this evening we have lost our venue in same circumstances.

Our landlord is bringing our table back in next month. We will have 3 or 4 league teams next season starting in September

They will not need a bar / service area at the back door after June 21, so what's to stop them putting the tables back in? True, but I think their focus now is generating more income which inevitably mean from people eating, so the bar billiards and pool tables will be replaced by tables.
