Seize the day (Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero - Seize the day, trust as little as possible in tomorrow. (Horace) is the full quote. Casus belli - An act used to justify war Cogito, ergo sum - I think, therefore I am. (Reni Descartes) De gustibus non est disputandum - There's no accounting for taste De mortuis nil nisi bonum - Say nothing but good about the dead. (Chilon) Dum spiro, spero - While I breathe, I hope. (Cicero) Eheu fugaces labuntur anni - Alas, the fleeting years slip by. (Horace) Ex cathedra - From the chair. With authority (without argumentation) Flagrante delicto - Literally while the crime is blazing. Caught red-handed. Deo volente - God willing

First, where no points can be awarded ! 13) and 20) were already answered by Craig and Lord Cheeky, so no points for Jock there. Sparky's answer to 15) is incorrect and Craig's answer to 14) likewise. Now to the positives................. Sav gets 1pt for 19) and so does Jock. Both have given loose but accurate interpretations of "In the act of committing a crime" 13) goes to CraigC, plus bonus half-point for the accreditment to Descartes. Jock has hoovered the remainder up thus: 11) bonus point for full quote including reference to Horace. 12) "That which justifies war" - close enough, 1pt 14) correct, 1pt 15) completely accurate, bonus half for Chilon. 16) completely accurate, bonus half for Cicero. 17) completely accurate, bonus half for Horace. 18) correct, 1pt. would have got extra for explaining that a cathedra is a bishop's chair. ;)
Final tally :
1. Sir Jock o' the Strap 9.5pts 2= CraigC 1.5pts 2= Lord Cheeky 1.5pts 4. Sav 1pt 5. Sparky 0pts
