I'll get there eventually.... thats my last 2 guesses on the subject Thank goodness for that. 30 is indeed the Soprano Sax - which is shaped more like a clarinet. Made of metal though. [glow=red,2,300]Q 1.5pts[/glow]

Not very musical, then, Mick ?
I can get a tune out of most things, - why, I could even play the xylophone on Kate Moss's ribs. ;D

1pt for Ocarina Sparky - for bonus points, can anyone tell me of a famous No.1 hit with an ocarina solo half way through ?
0.5pts for hunting horn as an educated guess. There is a single-word name for this instrument (t'aint just any old hunting horn. ;D )

Well, Q, I'm gonna give you the point for trying - for being very trying, in fact. ;D
24) is correctly known as a Contrabass Sax, but I believe it's also known colloquially in Ireland as a "fecking big saxophone". ;)
1. Q 3.5pts 2. Sparky 1.5pts
21), 22), 23), 25), 26), 27), 29) still to get, plus my bonus question on 28) the Ocarina.

bonus points !!!! The Ocarina was played in the hit - Wild Things 1.5 bonus points there, I think, would have been 2 if you had added "......by the Troggs" Leaderboard : 1. Q 3.5pts 2= Sparky 1.5pts 2= H & J 1.5pts

I'll leave Quiz II up there for the time being, but am closing this one as I think I went a bit OTT with the difficulty of the questions.
Here's the missing answers : 21. Bass Saxophone (note the double twist at the top and much longer bell distinguishing it from the smaller Baritone) 22. Buccina (used by Romans when entering battle.) 23. Cittern (a more decorated lute) 25. Dulcimer (cross between a harpsichord and a xylophone.) 26. Flageolet (one of the earliest reeded woodwind instruments) 27. Krummhorn (looks like a hollowed-out walking stick) 29. Basset horn (you can hurl it if you get fed up with it and a Basset hound will retrieve it for you. ;) )
Thanks to those who took part, you made a really gallant effort. Here's how it finished:
1. Q 3.5pts 2= Sparky 1.5pts 2= H & J 1.5pts
