Good to see leagues getting underway again, with Oxford finishing off their previous season, then Littlehampton, now Redhill. Worthing confirmed end September and Brighton October along with Sussex home and away inter-league getting underway 26th September and I do believe Northants have started as well. Looking good for the game at the moment but still a lot of work to be done for us to survive long term

Jolly Bricks 3, Old Oak 2 Iain M 3590, Nick M 910
Bob N 1670, Paul T 2930
Peter D 1910, Charlie P BP John W 2040, Martin G 1570
Mike F 1480, Clive T 2240
Strange match but ain't it great being back playing ! Charlie made the early running as his opponent failed to pot a ball for the first ten minutes. Then he caught up and overtook, causing a loose shot from Charlie. Mike made the early running in the last game, then I overtook and led by a thousand. Wobbly pulled an excellent 400 off the back cush and suddenly my lead was looking fragile. We then traded blows till the bar. Many thanks to landlord Iain and well done to his team.

SPCC A 3 MVC B 2
John S 9530 Terry 4390 Laurie 6440 Colin 6460 Dave 6060 Bud 3240 Vern 8460 Geoff 2930 Tracy 4080 Tony 10900 (10170 break)
First serious game for 18months John opened up with 5k .Terry got the balls Back and replied with nearly 4k.Nip and tuck till I got them back and ran it out with another 4k.
Second up Laurie and Colin and what a game honours even for quite a while before Laurie Made a decisive break which everyone thought was enough to take the leg But Colin got them back and just had long enough to pinch an incredible game on the last ball.
DC and bud next was a scrappy see saw leg till Dave got the balls back and made a good break at the Death.
Skipper on with the break. Vern seems to be Geoffs nemesis these days and so it carried on. Skipper Head down opened up with 8k which gave Geoff no time to get back into the game.
Last up Tracy and Tony.. Tc played really well and a 10k break and touch was too much for Tracy giving her no chance but she played well to make 4grand.
Great to be back playing league matches again. A lovely evening amongst good friends produced a close competitive battle.
