Hi, hope you are all keeping well. I know it's a long way off, but are there any dates for your Open in 2022 yet? We have a hotel booking that has been carried over for the last 2 years and it would be good to get the dates confirmed with them. Cheers

That is great news, hopefully the competition will be able to go ahead next year. Will it be played at the Rocquettes Hotel again?

Hi All
I am really sorry to say that the Hotel have just called to say they have an issue with using the room next year. They are having building works and it appears that they will not be completed in time.
We are currently working on an alternative as we speak. I will update you by the weekend if possible.
Darren

Hi All we can now confirm that the Guernsey Open will now be held at the KGV playing fields kgv.gg/facilitiesThere are some good options for Hotels near by www.channelhotels.com/hotel-hougue-de-pommier this one shows as an 18 minute walk however there is a secret short cut which will bring it down to around 10mins www.lefriquethotel.com/ 11 mins walk and has an excellent restuarant www.cobobayhotel.com/ 20 mins walk, probably the best sunset views in Britain For those staying in town the number 41 and 42 bus stop right outside the venue. There is also a night bus around 11.30pm back into town. Food will be served all day at the venue, however there is a baquette shop near by and the Saumarez Park tea room, is very good and only 5 mins away. Places to play We have agreed to have a practice table in the venue upstairs in the main bar area. You will aways be welcome at the: Hampshire Inn, the home of Guernsey Barbilliards - Land Lady Sharon and the Mariners, great for karaoke - land Lord Harry There is also a table in the Happy landings, which is located at the entrance to the airport - land Lord Alan. All walking distances are Guernsey times. We we say 5 mins we mean 5mins. Unlike the Uk when you say 5 but mean 35.

Hi all
I have just spoken with the hogue du pommier and they are closed for the winter. Therefore they are not taking any bookings until the new year.

A regular at the Guernsey Open and his brother always apparently get a good deal at St Pierre Park Hotel. There is also The Wayside, which is only 3 Star, but apparently, most rooms have been refurbished in recent years. Close to the venue and on the west coast.

A little reminder that the Guernsey open deadline for entries is the 31st January. Please ensure we have recieved and listed your name on the entry list if you expect to attend.
Currently the covid numbers are dropping and we are looking in good shape with just over 700 people infescted. The restrictions are all being removed bit by bit and i see us being back to normal come May.

Last call for entrants, the closing date is next monday. Guernsey have reduced there covid restrictions further today with Mandatory facemask stopping from midnight tonight. We have also reduced isolation down to 6 days after 2 negative LFT results.
The tone of the briefing indicated further enhanced relaxation of the rules will soon follow. We are hopefull that normality is only around the corner.

secure2.premierinn.com/gb/en/booking-a1/extras.htmlHi All please see that Guernsey will have a premmier inn open in time for the Guernsey Open. They are taking bookings online now and the price for Friday - monday based on 2 sharing a twin room starts from £189. The hotel is not near the venue but the they are both near major bus routes and shared cabs will still work out relatively cheap

With only 6 weeks until the open, Here is some information for those travelling over about the pubs with tables. Why not pay them a visit with your spare time.
The Happy Landings is right next to the airport, the table is just inside the door. The pub does excellent food a great price. It is literally only a 2 min walk from the terminal. Why not pop in play some games before heading onwards to your hotel. Alan Opie Is the land lord and will be happy to wlecome you.
The Hampshire in is a great local that does pub grub and is probably the heart of local bar billiards. They tend to have something going on most nights. As well as a Barbilliard table they have a skittle alley. Pool and darts. It is also not far from the KGV.(20min Walk) Sharon Ford is the land lady.
The Mariners is on the bridge (north on the Island) which is basically a second town. As well as a Table they have 3 pool tables a big TV and Karaoke most saturday evenings. There are also 2 other pubs within easy waking distance. There is also a Very Good indian Chinese and and pizza nearby eat in and takaways nearby. Harry Le Poidevin is the land lord
You will be made welcome at all venues.
