Mouscombe Club 3 Bevy A 2 Dave 1830 Zoe BP. Dave got off to a cracking start (after Phil got the order of play wrong) but lost over a grand by missing the ball. but came back strongly to win. Vic 1200 Ash 1380. Probably the most exciting match of the night when it all went down to the last 100 hole. Vic skimmed the 100 hole, Ash didn't hit it hard enough. Vic went totally the wrong way and Ash sunk it. Well done to both players. Martin 1320 Kev 4140 Martin couldn't really get into this match and Kevin really took advantage. Phil 3620 Ellis 900. Phil should have made hay in this one but kept doing silly things like knocking over the white on 800 odd and allowing Ellis back in but Ellis couldn't really do anything. Colin 4340 Doug 1640. All down to this game. Doug had trouble with the table and couldn't get the break. Colin capitulated but then couldn't get the left hand top corner right and Doug kept getting the break back but..... Good night and enjoyable to all (I hope). At least the beer is cheap.

Very good and enjoyable night, nice to see our opponents fit and well after their health issues. Thanks to them for rearranging and not just conceding the match. Excellent spread as always and thanks to Sadie and her team at the Blue Anchor for keeping us well fed and watered in our matches up to Christmas

Stag C 3 - 2 New Oak A (played 20/12/21 rearranged from 3/11/21)
Geoff Jukes 10,710* - 1,660 Marc Chipman Jim Millward 7,450 - 10,610* Nigel Senior Bob Hall 6,780 - 5,500* Ian Lelliott Grant Tully 4,330* - 10,030 Phil Osborne Stuart Mepham 7,640 - 4,810* Bob Osborne
Good night at the Stag where the home side got a 3-2 win.
In leg 1, a befuddled Geoff opened with 3k, but got the balls back and put the Stag 1-0 up. Chippers would have had him if only he got the balls back.....
Leg 2, Nige, looking for revenge after being dismantled at the Blue Anchor 3 nights before, missed his first split but retrieved the break and settled to make an opening 10,610. Jim set about in pursuit and may have got a lot closer without a minute or so excursion at the back of the table. He ran it out for over 7k but couldnt stop the match being levelled at 1-1.
Leg 3 Ian v Bob turned out to be the key game of the night. Fair to say both struggled, Ian opening with a few hundred and Bob replying with around the same score. Then Ian got the balls back (cheered on by the ever confused Geoff who thought Ian was playing on his team that evening) and made around 4.5k but Bob still had around 7 minutes left to catch. Bob got the balls back only to miss the one up straight away. Ian couldnt clear and Bob did and this time he managed to make a winning 5k break to put the stag 2-1 in front.
Leg 4 Grant was expected to do his usual 10k and touch job but missed on about 3k. Phil got them straight back and 50-10 his way to victory to setup the decider.
Leg 5 Bob made a good crack of it with a 3k start, a couple of chances for both to clear but Stuart did, and despite one or two questionable shot choices ( a hard hit 100-30 whipping the 100 the most memorable) he did well to make 7k for the win.
Well done to the Stag and thanks to them for allowing us to rearrange this game from last month when I couldn't play. Thanks to Hev for the lovely curry and rice, quite a few of us went for seconds.
