One good point for Kazoo, Q, but your number 1) answer is too wide of the mark - it's neither a saxophone, neither is it soprano in pitch. Your answer matches a question on one of the other two quizzes, though. ;)

2. Looks like a double bass, but surely thats too obvious, on closer inspection (poor picture) it seems to have too many strings??

Spot on Tony, the dreaded Serpent.
(Enters Alan Partridge mode) .....dating back from biblical times, and found tempting Eve in the Garden of Eden.

5) looks like a hurdy gurdy (not sure) and I didn't have to google for that!! I've seen similar in a local folk group.

Time to shut down one of the quizzes and this one has had more answers than most.
So these were the missing answers :
1. Bass Clarinet. (Although it has a metal bell-end like a saxophone, it is still classed as a woodwind instrument.) Quite easy to play, doesn't need as much 'puff' as a saxophone. Very rare though, you would be lucky to buy one for less than a grand.
3. Egyptian Harp. Medieval instrument favoured by strolling minstrels.
4. Flugelhorn. Fore-runner of the trumpet and cornet, but some still in existence to this day.
7. Russian Bassoon. Note the snake like mouth.
8. Shawm. Ancient, recorder-like, forerunner of the clarinet.
9. Tubax. Rare but a comparatively recent invention. I'd never heard of this myself until researching instruments with the lowest pitch. In that respect it is a rival for the Contrabassoon.
Quiz ended :
1. Q 2pts 2= Wolfman 1pt 2= Barbelman 1pt 2= Sav 1pt
