Didn’t intend to shoot anyone even the messenger. No way of knowing this has been copied from a website.
Just pointing out a small error and apologise if it offended the person who wrote the original.

Open singles quarterfinals:
Joe Elleson (*3250,1200) 4,450 - 16,130 (5070,*11060) Alex Hornby Michael Wilson (4550,*7620) 12,170 - 2340 (*1820,520) Martin Pellett
Alex played superbly to overcome Joe, with his only false shot coming from his first visit to the table when he missed a ball behind the 100 to give away 4k. After that he never looked like missing and going off with 7k and tapping up in te second leg was enough unless Joe had got into warp speed.
The second semi didn't have the fluency of the first, but the tone was sadly set for Martin by mis-cueing his first one up shot. Despite getting the break back a couple of times in leg one luck completely deserted him and the balls consistently managed to spin out or pull up instead of dropping in. Michael made 3 or 4 2/3k breaks - never quite getting the hang of the table fully - to see himself comfortably over the line and into a third semi-final in his debut season.

Open Singles SF:
Dave Constable (770,*10380) 11,150-9,280 (*9190,90) Michael Wilson
A thrilling semi-final concluded with DC snatching victory from newcomer Michael's grasp.
After winning the toss DC elected to put Michael in and he immediately made use of it. Although never getting into the fluent rhythm he has developed in the last few weeks a workman like break of 9100 off the bat in 14 minutes gave Michael an excellent start. Following that DC had a crucial 5 minute period to try and figure out the pace of the table and with neither player able to get the break back Michael took a lead of 8400 into leg 2.
With the break DC was on and off very quickly - only amassing 2k - and it looked like the key to the game would now be who could get the break back first. After a short scrap where the balls threatened to go awkward a rimmed 10 by Michael left DC with a good opportunity to clear. DC took this a made an excellent 8360 break under pressure - the only false shot coming with the scores nigh on level when the red span out of the 30 and rolled agonisingly (in Michael's eyes) into the 50. With 2 minutes left Michael had to clear the balls fast but DC had left them awkward and a couple of shots later Michael conceded - vowing to get revenge in the Memorial Cup final.
So an excellent match that was worthy of the semi-final and Michael came agonisingly close (again) to a maiden 10k break. Had he got there the result may well have been the other way around. Well done to DC as he goes one step closer to a second RDBBL Open Singles title!

Congrats to Gary Powell in completing a double (Over 50's and Open Singles) over D.C. tonight.
Gary led by 7.5k to 4.5k after the first leg with his break to come. He managed another 7k, keeping going with a mixture of traditional splits and follow-through 50-30's. D.C. had to go fast in the time left and eventually broke down, immediately conceding.
Good luck to Gary when the time comes to represent the County in the All-England Singles, to be played at High Wycombe.
