Reg Stone Semi:
Abbey lost to Zoe.
On a tricky Old Oak top Abbey took a 500 lead into leg two but a superb 2k from Zoe was the key to victory.

Reg Stone Semi (2): Michael bt Teri. A superb opening break in the first leg saw Michael carry a 6k lead into the second, which he was able to defend. But there was one "brown trouser" moment towards the end of the first, when the ball lipped the fifty and rocked the black slightly before dropping in the 200 hole ! So commiserations to Teri but well done to Michael who proceeds to his second Final in only his first season.....to quote Red Dwarf: "What a guy !"

I'm still not quite sure how it flew towards the 200 and didn't manage to knock the black peg. Anyhow commiserations to Teri.. a game played in very good spirits!

REG STONE FINAL:
Zoe Stevens (1850,4100*) 5950-10760 (8400*,2360) Michael Wilson
A second title for debutant Wilson.
The final game of the season began in usual fashion for Michael as he lost the tost and was made to break. Even though Michael had experience on the Salfords table, he missed his first split leaving Zoe in. However after Zoe had racked up a grand she fell foul of the roll down the centre of the table leaving her on zero. A battle at the back of the table then commenced with Michael adding another 500 to his lead before being the first to get the break back. 4k later he was off and with a healthy lead. He then got the balls back again to play the table out for another 2k.
At this point Zoe's chance were slim - but she was yet to show her potential. A scrappy start led to a protracted game at the back of the table and although the break was obtained by both players balls spinning out brought the game back to being a scrap. But with 4 minutes to go Zoe got the balls back and virtually played the table out for 3k, a lovely break which came just too late.
So a maiden (and likely sole) Reg Stone title for Michael in a maiden season to remember.
