Cricketers 1, Windmill G/G 4 The Cricks last hosted league play at the turn of the century and we enjoyed our first visit for 20 years ! (- well 40% present from each side, we were the Green Dragon then) Billy 2760, Johnny 3290 Dick 2640, Mick 6470 Brian 1540, Clive 7350 Ricky 7860, Paul 3310 Steve E 1700, Steve K 2260
Games 1 and 5 were very close so the result could quite easily have been in Cricketers' favour. In Game 4 Ricky and Paul stood at 3k each and with a few balls on the table it was a question of who could get the break back first: Ricky did, got his split routine going, and cleared up. An enjoyable evening spent in good company with some tasty fare provided (sarnies, chunky chips, Billy's onions and mince pies.)
Oh - and Chocie's table is a beaut !

Roffey Ssc 4 Alfold sc 1
Dick 7180 Mike 970 Steve 3550 Bill 1640 Lee 1860 Malc 3580 John 3450 Gary 1020 Pete 6550 Dave 1550
Opening leg Dick and Mike. Mike leaving them up early gave Dick a quick chance. Not taking advantage things got a bit bogged down. Dick next to get them back made a couple of good breaks to run out a good winner.
Frame 2 Sniffer and Bill. Another scrappy leg saw both players have plenty of goes. Steve as he so often does just grafted away and ground out a fine win.
Moose and Major a right old battle. Malc plodding along really frustrating Lee kept his lead. Moose chasing the break couldn't get them back and the game went Majors way.
Me and Gary on next yet another leg with all balls at the top of the table. Plenty of goes to no avail. At last I got them back and made 3k to take the lead, but with time ticking by Dave got them back and had a chance to nick it. Unfortunately he sunk it 4 times and let me off the hook.
Pete and Dave on last. Dave off early and Pete having his best game of the season never looked back and ran out a good winner.
A nice evening with the Alfold lads with plenty of friendly banter.
