With much sadness I have been asked to pass on the news that Peter Burchell died today. Many of you will remember him as a stalwart of the mid sussex league for many years. I played in his team at the Greyhound and will miss him very much.

That is indeed sad news. Peter was a real gentleman of the game, and I always enjoyed our chats, especially about the origins of the League.
Our website shows that he was a member of Mid Sussex's 1967/68 winning Interleague team, and it is a testimony to his playing skills that he made it to the Singles Final in 2005/06, by then in his seventies.
Condolences to his family including son Neil .......... I shall really miss him. RIP Peter.
