No need to fret Barbelman, Jock answered them all - but not all of the answers were correct, so there's still some points to be won !
Jocks answers - 1. Newport incorrect, third largest town in Wales, I think it was up for a royal charter as a city round about the time of the millenium, but missed out ? 0pts 2. Swansea correct, 1pt 3. I really wanted a town or city but can give 0.5pt 4. Anglesey correct, 1pt 5. Beaumaris castle is part of the answer, but too small a fragment to allow a fraction of a point ! 6. Both correct (Offas Dyke Path being the same as Glyndwr's Way). 2pts 7. Clwydian Range incl.Offa's Dyke; Gower peninsular; Lleyn peninsular and Anglesey - all correct, 4pts 8. Good answer, you got all three parks for 3pts, but only mentioned one modern-day county (Gwynedd) for just 1 more point. 9. Too vague, you have to name the specific locations to get any points. 10. Correct, (Bala Lake also known as Llyn Tegid). 2pts 11. Incorrect. It were always known as Monmouthshire when I were a lad ! 12. Correct (location is in South-west Powys) 1pt.

A few left for Barbelman to pick the bones from : 1) 3) 5) 8) 9) 11).

1. Cwmbran
3. Ok I would assume that Penarth Marina is in Penarth!!!! Again I assume that Pengam Park is in Pengham, closest towns I think are Rumney (about a mile from the park) Roath ( again about a mile away) And of course the capital of wales Cardiff (around 2 miles away) Penarth is approx 4 miles from Pengam. Mount Stuart redevelopment is in Cardiff I hope! So answer should be CARDIFF
5. The castles of Beaumaris and Harlech and the fortified complexes of Caernarfon and Conwy are listed as world heritage sites.
8. Merthyr Tydfil (Brecon Beacons) Pembrokeshire (Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.)
9.The most southerly point of mainland Wales is at Breaksea Point, Vale of Glamorgan. The most northerly point of Wales is just north of Llanlleiana, Isle of Anglesey. The most easterly point of mainland Wales is at Lady Wood Park, Monmouthshire. The most westerly point of mainland Wales is at Pen Dal-aderyn, Pembrokeshire.
11. 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972!

Phase two of Jock's answers - even more difficult to score than the first !
1. Cwmbran, correct, 1pt. (Wales's other new town is Newtown which was designated as such in 1967). 3. Cardiff, correct for the other 0.5pt (a good logical process got you there in the end.) 5. The castles and town walls of Caernarfon, Conwy, Beaumaris and Harlech (all in Gwynedd), correct, 4pts 8. No extra points here, as the modern-day counties were called for: Pembrokeshire coast is part of Dyfed; Snowdonia is in Gwynedd; and the Brecon Beacons National Park includes the Black Mountains and the Usk Valley, and thus spreads through Powys, Dyfed, Gwent and Mid-Glamorgan. 9. Interesting one this. I asked for mainland Wales so the Isle of Anglesey doesn't count ! Most northerly therefore is Point of Air, Clwyd (in the old county of Flintshire); most westerly is indeed Pen Dal-aderyn for 1pt; most easterly is Lady Park Wood (not Lady Wood Park) but I'll give it for 1pt. Most southerly is almost a dead-heat between your Breaksea point and my Roose Point. Breaksea is at latitude +51.51"N, Roose is at latitude +51.38"N so technically Roose gets it, but Wikepedia lists Breaksea as the southernmost so Jock gets it. 1pt. 11. Correct, actual date was April Fool's Day 1974. ;) 1pt. So that's an extra 9.5pts.
