Blue Anchor 1 - 4 Stags Head A
I don't have the scores, but there were wins for Lelliott, Millward, Ingram & Smith v Moyes-Robb, Lucas, Hurley & Farmer-Wright respectively, while Dave Jones defeated your reporter in the fifth game.
However, Stuart Mepham's break at the Alex is not, in fact, the highest away break thus far, as Martin Smith ran the table out in leg 4 for a little over 15k (can't remember the exact amount)

Stags Head B 4-1 Alexandra B **Chris Tupper 5330 - 2020 Doug Mahy - Tupps going well with just short of 5k before missing a ball and losing his score. He was first to get them back and dug deep to make 5k for the win. Doug played it out to the bar Matthew Knight 10,890 - 1990 Terry Denyer** - Terry was off early, I managed to get enough first go Jean Brackenridge 4620 - 5300 Colin Green** - Felt it wise to describe the Reverend as the most in form player in Sussex, however I had to eat my words as Colin's 5 breaks yielded his score. The balls ended up in the middle quite often which meant plenty of pegs and some outrageous flukes. In amongst all this Jean got them back from an impossible position only to leave the one up short. Getting them back she flew (again) and ran out of time (again) leaving the Rev maybe the most in form player in West Lancing? Anyway it was back to legendary bar billiards in leg 4...... **Nigel Senior 23,360 - 0 Vern Blake - the captain made it on time this week and was in scintillating form, smashing in 11k, then Vern rather too kindly allowed Nigel another go and well that was most definitely that although I did try to put him off as we had seen more than enough of him on the table. A consolation for Vern is that he retains his position as the nicest man in the Alex B team Phil Osborne 7800 - 5880 Roger Taylor** - very competitive leg as Roger made a very good 5k before coming off. There was quite a bit of back and forth before Phil got them back just in time and made a very good break for the win. He did take on an extra split with the leg already won Very enjoyable evening in excellent company with both Brian and Doug on very good form off the table. I do apologize for not knowing the answers to Brian's many questions including where was the 2023 Guernsey Open being held??

Good on you Phil taking the extra split always good to keep Matt on his toes, needed someone to do it as the general has been a bit lax in worrying the captain on a Wednesday
