Roffey CC 1, Windmill G/G 4 (in order played) Sandsey 2520, Mick 5300 Dillon 4530, Johnny 3880 Noggs 2210, Tommo 4980 Chelsea 360, Paul 5370 JT BP, Steve 5740
Good result for us on a nice table. The hosts actually played very well, the difference being we held most of what we scored. Sandsey made the early running in his game, Jim scored just enough despite Johnny's late rally, and Noggsy looking threatening whenever getting the break back. Chelsea was unlucky in losing a 3k break, and JT fell upon his sword after having his moments against the evening's top-scorer.

Cricketers 3 Rssc 2
Brian 2190 John 7980 Rick 8170 Dick 3170 Dick 5190 Steve 3580 Bill 980 Pete 7360 Brian 6220 Moose 2570 ( brian 4 player)
First up Brian and yours truly and I left the one up short. This gave Brian an early chance but lucky for me not too much damage.A few goes each and I got the balls back and a better effort with a 4k break gave me a good lead. Brian next to get them back was going well until he left them short like me. Break back yet again and I played time out to win.
Dick and Rick on next and Dick got off to a good start, with Ricky Uncharicalistily struggling to get them back. Ricky next to clear the table and he made no mistake with a 7k break. Frame over and 1-1.
Sniffer and Dick the Dude up third and Steve like those before on and off leaving them short. Even Stevens for a while till Dick took his chance and made a few. Time running out Sniffer got them back but was to far adrift and Dick had the leg won.
Game 4 Pete and Billy. Pete had obviously been watching and broke off with a faultless 6k. A few more goes each and neither player doing much. Pete finally got them back and made a few more and levelled the match 2-2.
Last but not least Moose and Brian playing 4 player. Lee on and off early gave Brian the chance he needed and learning from his game earlier got his head down and made 3k break. Moose struggling a bit and Brian made enough to run out a good winner
A smashing night with the Cricketers lads.

A great night at the Cricketers Wisborough Green, lovely Pub, great tight match against friends and a real log fire. Haven't played there for more years than I can mention probably 45 at a stab. Reminessing with Billy who was playing then brought back so many fond memories. It is great to to see the game so enthusiastically supported there. Stuart Mepham has put a great table in that plays superb and with a little bit more pace would be an absolute flyer. Brian also said that the table is getting played enthusiastically by the locals which is great to see and may encourage a new side. The only sad note of the night was Billy told us that Ken Vickery had suddenly died after a short iillness. Billy saying it was only a few months ago he was helping him with some work. Sad news played against Ken back in the day many times.

Sad news played against Ken back in the day many times. Sad news about Ken, I remember him playing when they were the Limeburners Cricketers. Another passing I heard of last night (and one John will remember) was that of Nigel Chandler, who played with Tony Hawkes, Nobby etc and was the landlord's son at the White Hart Cranleigh: A Covid casualty, apparently.

Thanks for the thought Neil I also played cricket against Ken at Wisborugh green back in the dat. Another billiards teammate of Ken's was Graham Cheesman a cracking Cricketer at the green . I think the Cricks was watering hole for most at the Green. As you say a terrific competitor wwhatever he did and a lovely man. RIP Ken.
