Nomads 2-3 SPCCA
Joe* 4970-3380 Junkie Michael 5820-4020 *Tracy JP* 310-8910 Vernon Jim* 3770-4200 DC Abbey* 2230-3660 DC
The Garland fortress is broken by a stirling South Park comeback.
Joe raced out of the blocks and looked like he could play until his heart was content but an unexpected miss on 4k gave Junkie hope. A scrap ensued and Junkie managed to capitalise late on by getting the balls back but a crucial miss a minute before the bar went gave Joe the opportunity to see the match out.
Next up Michael went off with 3k but Tracey's reply with a 3k of her own left her 400 up. It was a case of who could get the balls back first from there and Michael, at the second time of asking, managed it and played out the rest of the time to put the Nomads two up.
At this point Vernon turned the tide with a dominant performance against JP. If it wasn't for an unfortunate white peg Vern would have finished with >11k on the board - a captains display.
Next up it was DC who had to win twice to get South Park A over the line, and he made his way to 4k before a late fightback from Jim fell agonisingly short.
In the decider Abbey took the early lead with a lovely break to clear the balls up, but it was DC who scrapped his way through to bring home the victory for South Park A in their title pursuit.
So overall a good game which will have left both sides thinking of what could have been in their respective scraps to stay in Div 1 and take the title respectively.

Salfords Y 3, Old Oak 2 *Karen 1610, Clive 8160 Fritz 3640, *Charlie 1460 Anita 2530, *Martin 7470 *Baz 3100, Nick 1470 Nev 8030, *Paul 2690Game 4 was close: Nothing much separated Baz and Nick, then towards the end Nick crafted a 1.5k break - only to lose it by putting the break down 4 times. A grateful Baz then made 1.5k of his own, playing to the bar. Nev was on fire in the last game, completing the Y's comeback. Tasty food served up afterwards: quiche, and some nice brown bread sarnies with egg - and cheese & onion fillings.
