Hi all
Just to let you know there have been a few tweaks to the system to take affect from 2002 - so Bournemouth onwards
1) Entry numbers, points will be reduced (by 25%) for opens with less than 32 entries. For minor opens, pairs and ladies event there will be no reductions whatever the entry numbers are. Previously reductions were made for 50 players (25%) and 40 players (50%)
2) Score bonusses, change to Northants 4 pin to 0.1 starting at scores over 2,000, then an extra 0.1 for every 1,000 scored thereafter. (previously 1500 then every 500). Also a 1 point score bonus cap is applied to any leg in any format played.
3) Events with Groups. Knockout stage points will be awarded as normal. But for the group phase 0.5 points will be awarded for Group wins in open and ladies events, 0.25 points will be awarded for group wins in minor opens and pairs events. These group points replace the knockout points that would have been awarded at that stage.
4) If an event runner up will receive either the ranking points calculated by the usual method, or 0.5 points less than the winner receives. The points awarded will be the lower of the 2 values. This is to avoid a event runner up receiving more than the winner (which has happened in All England Singles for example)
I will get these changes entered on the full ranking system breakdown, which can be found on the AEBBA website.

Should mention thanks to Curt, Stu Carruthers, Mark Trafford and Dave Ingram on the ranking committee to help make these decisions before we kick 2022 off on Saturday....
